After Steem launched it soon went to number 4 or 5 on CoinMarketCap. based on the concept of pay authors and content discovery.

At the time, Ned, Dan and Steemit Inc owned nearly 80 percent of the stake, and the future was based on the promise of distribution.

During that time new users joined, we got air time, people talked about the project and new users poured in. There was a lot of debate about Dan about DPOS, etc. But people said our name. The only people who ever talk about Hive now are Hive users

Many never understood end-users weren't the invertors, but rather traffic and users would bring the investors. The idea that it wasn't working spread, and got worse during the bear season. Our peak user phase came while Dan was powering down a huge amount of stake, since the price didn't go up, instead of reviewing business intelligence, just reinforced the idea that "it doesn't work"

The stakeholders decided IT DOESN"T WORK. lol.

There has really never been any agreement on what the Hive blockchain is since then. While the positive energy from feeling like they fought J. Sun was invigorating for a bit... It has no compelling message to bring users on.

We hate Justin really isn't a marketing slogan. We are decentralized has turned into code words for we are uncomfortable being shoved totally towards social media, but have no idea or agreement on what we are instead.

I think part of the reason every marketing attempt is subject to infighting is really just the fact that Hive has an identity problem, end users are faced not only with a hard to use platform, but a hard to please and fairly offensive culture.
