I don't think it makes much sense to compare economic growth when the world used the gold standard or some form of it compared to after. The idea of money was different then compared to now.

Cryptocurrency effectively turns anyone into a currency issuer. If they're willing to do so.

Also, not sure about economic progress, but lots of paper wealth.

The world is experiencing worker shortages in some industries, we apparently live in a world where companies are hesitant to raise wages(and prices) and rather deal with lack of workers.
