Former ECW/WCW/NJPW/WWE Earns 10%

As many of you from the #woonft community know, we traveled to the home of Perry Saturn to give him his cut of the WOO Presale Event. We were very excited that we could get Perry the money he was owed, and it came to him at a time of great need.

Let's take a moment and recap all the travels for our #woonft community.

Good Food and Delayed Travel

I don't know about you, but I always need a good hearty breakfast before a day of travel. So, I stopped by a small diner to get my favorite breakfast meal. Country fried steak and eggs!

After that hearty breakfast, I was fed and ready to travel. I hopped into my vehicle and drove 2 hours through snow flurries to get to Denver.

As many of you who have traveled will know, there is always the possibility that your travel may be delayed. That was the case with our trip. Shortly after arriving in Denver, I was notified that my plane was delayed for about 3 hours.

I figured I might as well make the best of it, so I decided to stop and get some more food. As you can see here, I got myself a T-bone steak with sweet potato fries.

After these two meals, I was utterly stuffed. I still had time to wait, so I decided to rib Perry Saturn.

For those of you that don't know what a rib is. A rib is wrestling speak for pulling a prank on another one of the wrestlers, aka the boys. These are goodhearted little pranks made to pass the time and build friendships. I will speak more about the rib in a moment, but now it's time to get to the airport.

Airport Arrival and Flight Departure

I arrived at the airport with plenty of time before boarding. In record time, I made my way through airport security and found the gate where my plane would be departing from. I found a seat and planted my feet on top of my luggage, and waited for boarding time.

It wasn't long before we started to board the flight. Luckily, I was one of the first on the full flight and was able to find a good spot for my overhead luggage.

The flight was insanely quick. By the time I got my complimentary beverage and finished drinking it, the plane was already landing. I grabbed my bag and went to the pickup area to locate my ride to Perry's house.

The flight took about an hour and a half, and the drive to Perry's was about the same. I didn't arrive at Perry's house until after 1 am!

Ribbing Perry Saturn

If you recall, earlier, I said I decided to rib Perry. How was I going to rib him? I decided to put the cash I was giving him in an envelope and write "Perry's Payoff AKA PP."

So, I get to Perry's house, we say hi, shake hands, and then I say to him, "Oh, let me grab your PP before I forget." I then hand the envelope out to him, saying, "Make sure you hold on to your PP with both hands."

I know it's an immature joke, but both Perry and I got a good chuckle.

Day 2 with Perry Saturn

We woke up bright and early, and you could tell Perry was excited. He walked around the entire weekend saying, "It's a good news day." And he was absolutely right because I had the pleasure of being woken up by this handsome guy.

Meet Loki, Perry's 12-year-old pit bull. He is the sweetest thing in the world! I said good morning to Loki, then Perry and I ventured out to get his property taxes paid off.

Perry Pays Off His Property Taxes

If you're not aware, Perry lives in a small town called Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Minnesota is known to be a cold, snowy state, as you can see here.

So, we ventured through the snow and made our way to the courthouse.

When we arrived, it took us a minute to locate the entrance we were supposed to use. Due to Covid, many parts of the courthouse are not accessible, but luckily we were able to find the entrance in a timely manner.

We make our way to the treasury department, and Perry asks the friendly receptionist how much he owes on his property taxes. She informed him that he was three years behind! If you're not aware, in the USA, if your property tax is not paid in full, you are at risk of losing your house. Anyone can pay off the property taxes, and they will become the new owner of the property. Luckily for Perry, no one had come to pay it off and take the property.

Perry's property taxes owed were just over $1,600. So, Perry counted out the money owed to pay it off completely.

As we walked out, Perry said, "It's a good news day. This is the first time since I owned the house that I've been caught up on my property taxes." Let that one sink in for a second. This is the first time in twelve years that Perry has been able to be caught up on his bills. That is the power of Wrestling Organization Online and its amazing #woonft community.

Perry Goes Shoe Shopping

After getting the property tax paid off, Perry decided it was an excellent time to get himself a new pair of shoes. He has been wearing the same pair of shoes I got him four years ago for Christmas. We stopped at the store, and he picked up a new pair of size 9 Sketchers.

We did a bit more shopping. He was able to purchase phone cards for his prepaid cellphone, pick up some extra groceries, and still have a little bit of money set aside to continue to stay on top of his bills.

Final Day at Perry's and Return Flight

We spent the remaining time enjoying each other's company, and I even had time to go out for a drink with Perry's wife, Lisa. We both got Mojito's, and Lisa tried to convince me that I would look good with a face tattoo. Thanks for the advice Lisa, but I think I'll pass.

Luckily for us, AEW Rampage and NJPW were live on Friday night, so Perry and I watched the program. It was exciting listening to Perry critique NJPW and talk about his experience wrestling in Japan.

When it came to AEW, though, Perry was not impressed. His comments were fascinating as he spoke about how many wrestlers don't look like they have even seen a gym. He stated, "If this is an example of the direction the business is going, then it's fucked." He said too many wrestlers don't look the part, and they are more focused on high spots and just doing moves. I would tend to agree with Perry here.

In Conclusion

This was a fantastic trip. It was so good to see Perry again and see how happy he was. I'm not kidding; I heard him say, "It's a good news day." probably 20 times a day while I was there. He also said something that filled my heart with so much joy. He said, "You know, the things you do for me and how WOO has provided me with money, it allows me to be a man again." That touched my heart, and I hope it has touched yours too. We, as a community, have come together and made it possible for Perry Saturn to feel like a man who can take care of his family again.

Thank you all for making this possible, and I cannot wait to see how else Wrestling Organization Online can help the wrestling industry and leave it better than how we found it.
