In case you missed this update by a top hive witness @themarkymark on the secret return of 14.5 milion STEEM tokens by Bittrex to Steemit account. The STEEM which worth around $7M USD was stolen during the #steemhostiletakeover by Justin Sun shortly after Hive forked out.

These tokens were frozen from users' accounts who have laboured in the steem blockchain for years as curators, developers and content creators. The tokens were not ninja mined either.

Around 14.5M Steem was returned to Steemit that was not claimed in the pending lawsuit. These funds belonged to large account holders like @freedom, @mottler, and other large account holders that did not join the lawsuit.

It looks that after the lawsuit on the matter seemed to haev died down, Bittrex decided to toe a path parallel to integrity, secretly returning the stolen funds which have since been sent to Binance for trade.

This seems like centralized exchanges (CEXes) is throwing caution to the wind and are working against true decentralization that blockchain represents.

What do you think about Bittrex and the secret return of people's hard earned funds? Does their action in any any affect your trust on Bittrex or other CEXes?

Let's hear your thoughts in the comments section of this post for CENT rewards.
