Evening Splinterlands Fans

Although buying enough packs ensures that you get your decent share of some awesome monsters/summoners, but lets be honest, you can't have them all, not unless you buy crazy amount of packs from all editions. If you are a new-commer good luck buying those alpha, beta and promo packs.

Apart from completing their decks, there are other reasons that make people turn to market. Some people wants to stack low supply legendaries and promos to make a profit and some just love collecting gold foils.

So the punch lien is every one of the player eventually have to turn to the market to buy selected monsters/summoners from other players. So it is important to understand what are the factors that decide the market price of the monster/summoner.

There are several factors that can affect the market price of monsters/summoners, but the most important are; the quantity in circulation, being in print or out of print, edition and utility.

πŸ‘‰ Quantity in Circulation

Quantity is Circulation is the single most important factor determining the cost of a monsters. It follows the simple market rule of 'supply and demand'. Higher the supply lower will be the price.

Since commons are inherently higher in circulation, so they are far less pricey in contrast to legendaries, which are least in circulation. Same goes for the gold foils.

Even the newly introduced monster/summoners can be over-priced too(as compared to others in same category) because of their low circulation.

Some promos are even lower in circulation than legendaries, so they are heavily priced.

e.g. ARCHMAGE ARIUS is the most expensive summoner costing 70$/BCX with only 78 in circulation. And SHIN-LO is the the most expensive monster costing 87$/BCX with just 107 in circulation. Interesting to note, even though SHIN-LO is prety much useless but still it one the most expensive monster in market, only because of its extremely low supply.

πŸ‘‰ In Print/Out of Print

This the second most important factor that determines the price of a monster/summoner. When a monster/summoner gets Out of Print, it means no more of it will be printed and that its market supply is gonna reduce due to combining or burning. So FOMO drives the price up.

You can check the print %age of monsters/summoner here.

πŸ‘‰ Edition

Edition determine the price in several ways. Different edition monsters have different supply and some editions (Gold Foil & Alpha/Promo) also offer DEC Reward Bonus when used in battle. Alpha edition monsters are far costly than their Beta counterparts because of being low in supply and DEC bonus they offer. There also tournaments that only allow certain edition cards to be used.

πŸ‘‰ Foil

Foilage of monster/summoner have the same impact as of edition. Gold foils are far lower in supply, they offer DEC Reward Bonus and can be used in Gold Foils only tournaments, so they are far much overpriced. Beside some people love having gold decks only because they look cool.

πŸ‘‰ Utility

Utility of monsters/summoners heavily impacts it market price. All Monster and Summoner in splinterlands are not equal even when they bling tho same rarity class. Some are by default more bad ass than others so players find them more useful in battles. With more and more players inclined to use a particular monster/summoner in battles and purchasing it from market to upgrade it, its market supply gets reduced pushing the price high.

One good example is, YODIN ZAKU summoner. YODIN ZAKU offers some impressive set abilities unparalleled to any summoner in it's class and even though it is still not out of print but its price is sky rocketing nearing beta legendary summoners that are out of print.

Apart from above factor, there are other factors too. e.g. splinterlands weekly battle challenge pushes the price of challenge monster up.

With upcoming Splinterlands land expansion with buildings, tools manufacturing and spell crafting, and monsters/summoners best suited for these jobs, the prices of several monsters is gonna jump. e.g. RUSTY ANDROID is anticipated to be suitable for maintenance jobs so we are gonna see a significant hike in price of RUSTY once buildings get up and running.

That will be all for today. Take very good care of yourself and people close to you.. Until next time... πŸ‘‹AdiosπŸ‘‹
