Splinterlands Land Presale Lottery and FOMO.... Wish Our Pool Luck

As anticipated the Land Presale Lottery has been a big hit, having 34 entries for 27 Region tickets with 1 day and 14 hr still left. This means some of the entrants are gonna miss the chance to get their region claim.
Unlucky ones will probably try to purchase their share from the 30 tracts /3000 plots reserved for the presale. But with only limited tracts available in presale and a big numbers of interested parties, presale is not gonna last too long, as orders will be filled one first come first serve basis.
And those left out in Phase-I of land presale are gonna have wait till 28 November for the Phase-II of land presale. Phase two will also have 30 regions to be explored with each region costing $9,000. That is a $1,500 price hike from Phase-I, and is what creating a FOMO & driving the people crazy to get on board in Phase-I. Phase-III region presale will be even more costlier, $10,500/region.
I have pooled up for one tract and 33 plots in @neoxian(aka dragon banker) land pool. But with the lottery entries exceeding the available number of regions, there is always a chance that our pool might not get lucky. So a backup plan(in case we get unlucky) has been put in place by our pool leader, @neoxian. Here is the announcement in #splinterlands-chat channel of City of Neoxian discord channel.
Mr. Dragon Today at 5:39 AM There are now 33 entries out of 27 regions in the lottery, so there is a very real chance that we may be unlucky and not get the region for the price. I'm willing to increase my own contribution to purchase the more expensive region and get the half for myself (and whatever may be left over). Hopefully we are lucky but if we are not, you will have three choices
- Contribute more to get the same amount.
- Do nothing, and get proportionally less land.
- Full refund (and not get any land of course).
Hmmm. First of all, like every one in the pool I am praying that we may get lucky. And I case, we don't I am gonna stick with the pool and go with option 2. I don't have dec left over to cover the price hike for the Phase-2 presale. So I plan of get proportionally lesser land for my contribution. In case of Phase-2 presale purchase, my land share will be reduced from 1 tract & 33 plots to 1 tract & 11 plots. Damn that's gonna hurt.
And Kudos to @neoxian, for being generous enough to cover the price hike in case our pool needed to go for the Phase-II.
But I think hopefully its not gonna come to that, and we are gonna get lucky in the lottery. We will find out soon enough.
