Evening Splinterlands Addicts

Today I am gonna discuss the taunt monsters that I prefer using when ever possible. If you are a splinterlands player, then you must know about Taunt ability, but for newbies let me explain. Taunt ability means that all enemy monsters target the monster with this ability(if they are able to).

Taunt ability can be used to disrupt the enemy attack plans and divert the bulk of their attack to the taunt ability monster (usually having decent health and shield to stand the attention) and protecting your vulnerable monsters for as long as possible.

There are not many Taunt ability monsters in splinterlands, only four to be exact. So, I am gonna discuss each of them in order of my preference, with battle demonstration of each.

DARK HA'ON

DARK HA'ON is the untamed edition legendary monster with Taunt ability right from lev-1. With decent attack and health, it also have nice defense in the form Void and Magic Reflect abilities. I consider it a defensive Taunt monster. HA'ON works best in saturated magic battles especially with Mimosa Nightshade.

Also don't under estimate the Flying and Salvage ability, making it a real asset in Earthquake battle rule set. Costing 10 mana, it is best suited for 35+ mana battles.

Currently there are 1,830 normal foil DARK HA'ONs in circulation, costing just 2.08$/BCX. Gold Foil DARK HA'ONs are far less abundant and way more costlier. There are only 68 Gold Foil DARK HA'ONs in circulation with lowest selling cost of 67$/BCX.

MAGNOR

MAGNOR is yet another legendary untamed monster with Taunt ability. Having huge health with strong melee attack makes it a true offensive monster. The real fun begins at lev-2 when MAGNOR gets Rage ability, making it a real bad ass. At lev-3 and lev-4 it also gets Trample and Return Fire abilities.

I love watching MAGNOR in Rage when the attack becomes and speed gets too much to handle. Costing 10 mana, it is best suited for 35+ mana battles with low magic attack probability.

Currently there are 1,272 normal foil MAGNORs in circulation, costing just 2.18$/BCX. Gold Foil MAGNORs are far less abundant and way more costlier. There are only 69 Gold Foil MAGNORs in circulation with lowest selling cost of 93$/BCX.

Demo Battle

THE KRAKEN

THE KRAKEN is the only legendary Reward edition monster with Taunt ability. THE KRAKEN have heavy health and speed. At lev-2 it gets Demoralize ability but the real fun starts at lev-3 as it get Rage ability.

Also don't underestimate the Retaliate ability at lev-4. Costing 12 mana, it is best suited for 35+ mana battles with low probability of magic attack.

Currently there are 4,483 normal foil KRAKENs in circulation, costing just 2.14$/BCX. Gold Foil KRAKENs are far less abundant and way more costlier. There are only 95 Gold Foil KRAKENs in circulation with lowest selling cost of 178$/BCX.

Demo Battle

SHIELDBEARER

SHIELDBEARER is the only non-legendary Taunt ability monster in splinterlands. It have decent stats for a rare 8 mana monster. At lev-5 it gets Shield ability making it a great defensive monster.

Maxed SHIELDBEARER also have Return Fire ability. Costing 8 mana, it is best suited for 35+ mana battles with low probability of magic attack. Being a rare monster SHIELDBEARER can be used a nice tank option, in Lost Legendaries and Rise of Commons battle rule sets.

Currently there are 7,832 normal foil SHIELDBEARERs in circulation, costing just 0.084$/BCX. Gold Foil SHIELDBEARERs are far less abundant and way more costlier. There are only 547 Gold Foil SHIELDBEARERs in circulation with lowest selling cost of 2.48$/BCX.

Demo Battle

That will be all for today. Take very good care of yourself and people close to you.. Until next time... 👋Adios👋
