Hello Hive!

If there's one thing I admire about the @LeoFinance team is that they know how to build hype. That's aside from the fact that they continuously and tirelessly grind to bring some awesome second layer products to Hive. I'm not doing this kiss some ass or to perfume myself into the community. I don't need that. I just want to give credit where credit is due.

Just to make things clear, I still see some followers of the community that see Hive as competition to LeoFinance to be distasteful. There's no need to be bitter on things though. Let's just focus on the developments. Let's just focus on the awesome stuff.

Now that's out of the way, let's get down to the details as to why I am posting this.

For those who didn't follow me on Twitter, you didn't miss anything. For those who did, you know I'm a jumble of hot mess splattered into a blank canvass. I talk and share anything that I could think of from politics to memes about me and my "non-existent" love life. Unlike those who have their "curated feed", I offer the rawest version of myself in a space that I could be booted out anytime for any reason.

In Hive, I share all these feel-good stuff like travel, photography, and food. I also made it an aesthetic to be in a long-form quality content for the reason that one day, I will come back and read everything to reminisce my adventures. I'm always putting effort into this space because there's this confidence that my data won't be lost after how many years as long as there's a node running. However, I'm bounded by the type of content that I share. There are moments when I wanted to share something, but it won't be enough to warrant a long-form content. Anything that wouldn't end up here goes to Twitter.

That might change next month. Cue in #projectblank. With all the announcements of announcements, there's still a lot of room for speculation and I love it to some extent. This means there's a lot to talk about. Here's what I've known so far:

1. It will be about microblogging.

This is what I'm excited about. As much as we want to bring a lot of people to Hive, some are not really into long-form content. I experienced this firsthand when I tried to onboard my friends. I know they are capable of writing long-form blogs but it's not just their interest. However, it's really observable that they are very active on Twitter. They're even fond of creating Twitter threads that if you combine all the contents of those threads, you can create one long post.

There's really this art of creating microblogs or tweets especially with the limitation of characters that you tend to carefully choose your words. Often, information is disseminated clearly and concisely. In my case, often those ideas that just pop up in my head won't be enough for one long-form content that they ended up on Twitter. And I'm worried that those ideas will be gone anytime. I wanted to build on a space that's more secure and immutable.

2. It's LeoFinance's largest project in terms of scope and scale.

I took that directly from @khaleelkazi's post. As I've said at the start of this post, when they say something like this, people tend to believe them because they already made a reputation here. As for me, I'm captivated by the term "microblogging in Web3". I won't be worried anymore if Twitter will suspend my account for violating their rules that I haven't read. It would be awesome to see the product any day from now.

3. It will handle content not seen on Hive before.

This is what I'm really rooting for. I hope that whatever post I will have on ProjectBlank won't show in my main Hive blog. It's just for me and for my aesthetic reasons. I'm not sure if this is possible, but I hope we have options not to share it on our main blog. To kind of separate short-form and long-form content while having it on the same blockchain would be amazing. If not, I will still use it, but I need to create an alternate account that would cater to my short bursts of ideas.

4. It will have a different tokenomics.

I think this is really necessary. To have a different token that doesn't pull directly from Hive pool makes it really different from the microblogging dapps that already existed here in Hive. It solves the issue of "over-rewarded posts" and removes the necessity to cap rewards.

5. There will be an airdrop of the token to Leo holders.

They already made it clear in the post that they will only airdrop the token to staked LEO and LEO miner tokens. This means that any token that's not "powered up" will not be considered in the airdrop. Make sure that you have your tokens staked already if you want to avail with the airdrop.

I kind of find it funny that people are more excited about the airdrop more than the product itself. While having a free token is amazing, but for me, the product or development behind should have the attention more than the token itself. After all, those tokens will be useless without a viable product.

6. It will be launched any day or week from now.

I couldn't find an exact date of launch, but they promised to announce it once the developments are done. I already have all my LEO staked just in case. I don't have much though as I'm not a regular in this community. I just have mine from daily returns from delegating some HP to @leo.voter.

So, who's excited about ProjectBlank? I know I am.
