Hi friends! Finally, it's time to finish my story with my friends in a two-day hike along the Marmarosh Mountain Range, the bulk of which runs along the Ukrainian-Romanian border. I have written so many posts about it because I got a ton of impressions and made many photos of incomparable Carpathian landscapes. However, today I will tell you about the end of our hike.

So, as I mentioned, most of our path along the mountain ridge we passed in thick fog, following one another on a narrow path. Despite the fact that we could not see the distant mountain scenery, we had a lot of interesting things. For example, I was surprised that at altitudes almost two kilometers above sea level we found ordinary forest mushrooms, the same ones that grow below, in the forests on the plains - porcini mushrooms, xerocomus, suillus. I also found some poisonous red fly agarics that were perfectly visible even in the fog. Another interesting find was the true fields of high alpine Carpathian blueberries, which no one has collected yet. It is worth noting that the Carpathian blueberries are a natural complex of vitamins, trace elements and biologically active substances. It is a natural forest pharmacy of the Carpathians, which is used for the treatment and prevention of many diseases. We tasted a few berries that turned out to be very tasty, but we were limited in time so we moved on.

At about five o'clock in the evening we descended the ridge below, but we were still a long way from where we left our cars. After a short break we walked down the forest road for two hours, it was quite easy. But then one of the most difficult descents in my life began. Firstly, it was getting dark and we were finishing our journey into the dark with the lights on. For the second last part of the descent we went down a narrow gorge, the bottom of which was covered with sharp shale ledges, and if we made one unsuccessful step, it could be quite tragic. Thirdly, having already descended to the forest road, we got a little lost and went to the opposite direction from where we left our cars, but in time we realized it and returned.

In general, I am very positive about this mountain hike, I am very glad that I was with friends in this part of the Carpathian Mountains and we have experienced these incredible adventures together!
