I think Elon has made it clear several times that he sees Bitcoin as the future. His reasons for his actions are based on his work and priorities. Yeah, he seems really unstable with his reasoning sometimes, but he's really just another guy, a human. His opinions really shouldn't be so important in the grand scheme of things.
