I don’t think unemployment should be an issue anywhere because with the evolution of the internet making money has been so easy. If someone is unemployed, there are only two reasons, one, he/she does not have any skills, and two, he/she is too lazy and afraid to start. If you do not have work, try building skills and knowledge. These days it is really easy to build skills and knowledge, all you need to do is spend a couple of hours on youtube every day for a couple of weeks. If you mean employment in a traditional sense, for example working in the workplace, the reason for unemployment is a lack of jobs. There are not enough jobs means there are not enough industries and businesses to work. Even if there are enough businesses and industries and you can’t find a job, it could be because there is an economic recession in the country and they are not hiring.

Self Employment Vs Jobs

There are pros and cons to being in a job and working for a company. You receive a paycheck regularly when you have a regular income, it is very easy to manage your personal finance. However, climbing the corporate ladder is very difficult, thus, you have limited opportunities to make more money.

As a self-employed individual, you might not be making a regular income, but you might be making a lot of money because you get a lot of earning opportunities. You also get to choose the job you want to do and your own working hours, which will help you become more creative and productive.

If you are interested in self-employment, the basic question that needs to be answered is when you should seek self-employment.

Don’t think about self-employment until you are highly skilled and the skills you possess are high paying and in high demand. Also, if you are already employed, never leave your job to become self-employed unless you are already earning some money from your side hustle. Likewise, never abandon your regular income source for self-employment until you have enough savings to cover your expenses for four to five months. If you meet these requirements, you are good to go.

Self-employment is better than a job but also very risky as you might be out of work for a long time.

Popular Jobs for Self-Employment

If you want to become self-employed, you need to choose skills that are high paying and then build your expertise around them. Here are some skills that will land you high-paying jobs.

Cloud Computing is in high demand. You might find it fascinating that Amazon makes most of its money through cloud computing. According to some statistics, cloud computing jobs in the United States are growing by 24 percent and will be worth 1.8 trillion USD in a couple of years. If you have skills and knowledge related to cloud computing you can easily find employment opportunities.

Data analyst, or data scientist as some people prefer to call it, is another high-paying job. The scope of this career field is also growing rapidly. If you want to become self-employed, this is also a skill you should consider choosing.

These two skills have less competition as not many people are in these career fields. Before someone fulfills the position, take advantage by building skills.
