I got a mystery mail in the post this morning, which is a big lie.

Two lies really as I was expecting the package and also missed it's arrival so had to drive to the post office and collect it a day later. But go back one week previously and I did get a bit of a surprise. Long beforeefore Christmas, I don't even know when. Posts started appearing about this years STEEM silver round.

I had actually noticed it the year before but was still fairly new to STEEM and wasn't sure what the full story on it was and also how to get involved in it. Overall I loved the idea of creating something so special to tie into the blockchain and the community behind it success but was afraid to commit money to people that I didn't know.

I missed out on that year but when I saw them being set up again knew I couldn't pass up on the chance to own a couple myself. I was always a fan of silver in terms of jewelry, watches and chains in particular but had never bought it for value or rarity before but was excited to do so this year.

It was so long ago when I placed the order that I had pretty much forgotten about the whole concept until I saw a few posts appearing earlier on this month and went looking to see what the story was with mine.

Fortunately the Ireland and UK group buy had landed earlier in the week and I was able to get onto @silverstackeruk who was brilliant in getting my order set up and in the post straight away. Thanks for all the effort that you put into getting this set up for the people on this side of the water.

When I saw this on the top of the envelope I knew exactly what had arrived in the mail. Beyond excited is the phrase as it had been a long time since I had waited so long for something so special.

And worth the wait it definitely was. Just take a look at this beautiful design and tell me you wouldn't like a few of them to call your own. I've always been attracted to the shiny things in life anyway so these make me very happy to hang onto for the future. Not even in terms of money but in terms of what they represent for STEEM and for us.

Apart from how nice they all look in general, there was one thing that caught my eye more than anything else on the design.

If you look closely to the back of the coin there is a line of writing all along the outside rim with various translations of the word community. To my delight one of the first things that I spotted while examining the coin was the word, "Pobail" in amongst all of the other major languages inscribed into the STEEM community.

For those non-Irish speakers on the blockchain it is from our native Gaelic language and Irish for community. To see it placed in with the major languages gave me a nice little surprise and made the STEEM rounds just that little bit more special to me.

Hopefully this will just be the start of my collection and I will have added a lot to it over the next ten years of STEEM.
