A YELLOW LINE. -An exercise of personal interpretation of what Constructivism was-

Around 1913, Constructivism was profiled in modern art, a continuation of Cubist-Futurist efforts in pursuit of a "genuine" painting. At that time Piet Mondrian proclaimed Neoplasticism in painting, and Kasimir Malevich conceived his theory of Suprematism in his quest for pure form. In spite of the great importance these ideas had for international art, in practice they were short-lived.

However, in the subsequent evolution, various tendencies of an art inherited from the Constructivism. Thus, for example, Op Art and Kinetic Art carries out a consistent analysis of the effects of light and colour, not only on two-dimensional surfaces but also in the spatial sphere; Art Accurata experiments with the mathematically serial ordering of shapes and colours, and Minimal Art demonstrates in clear and simple cubic bodies the fundamental norm for the determination of space. Perhaps without its creators imagining it, Constructivism thus led to various currents of abstract-concrete art that stands out for its strict formal rules.
