April comes to an end, so it is time for a new post about the rewards I got from different Hive related services and initiatives.

Voting distribution

Based on Hivereports you could get insight in the upvotes you get for a certain amount of time. Below you can see the voting distribution of all incoming votes in April (and February as a comparison). It can be seen that @actifit isn't on top of the list anymore. @steembasicincome took over the lead by a huge margin, but I doubt whether that is actually true. It might have to do with the great number of votes I got from them when their VP was low. Hivereports uses the current HP/VP value, so might be off substantially. @Dkid14 is the first human upvoter this month on the second spot. Thank you so much! @actifit is only third this month, followed by @dustindivitto and @payroll. A lot of new names over there!

February:

Author rewards

The second important thing to take into account is the total amount of author rewards that I got during this month. Beeme.icu helps here, since you can see the rewards of the last 30 days on your account page there (see below). One disadvantage is that rewards are always paid out 7 days after you author a post. That means that the reward data from Beeme are 7 days behind the upVoters data about upvotes. To keep the calculation easy, I assume that the amount of upvotes by the different services are comparable for both periods. Since I post 4 to 5 times a week nearly all weeks, that should be pretty close to the reality.

According to the Beeme data I got 65,63 Hive (Power) and 0.18 HBD in author rewards (compared to 28.44 in March). This is a new personal record for me! I have to say I'm starting to love Hive a lot ;)

Results

In the table below you can find the results of the calculation for this month, including a recap from the previous five months. I only take the services into account that are among the five biggest contributors/upvoters.

ServiceShare (%)HIVE (Apr)HIVE (Mar)STEEM (Feb)STEEM (Jan)STEEM (Dec)STEEM (Nov)
@steembasicincome37.4 %24.88x.xx4.184.664.376.23
@actifit11.3 %7.52x.xx7.918.569.2911.41
@upvoteshares1.7 %1.06x.xx0.450.830.671.33
@esteemapp0.0 %0.00x.xx3.203.731.704.78
@steem-ua0.0 %0.00x.xx1.491.311.345.04
  • SBI is extremely high this month, but that is a slight overestimation because of the VP-issue I mentioned above.
  • Actifit is still doing good. There seems to be less activity, which means I can get a AFIT to Hive upvote more often.
  • Esteemapp has stopped upvoting my votes. I'm not sure whether that's new policy or because I'm doing something wrong. Hope it comes back up shortly.
  • Upvoteshares had a really good month. Especially when you take into account the rewards were probably even higher because of the SBI overestimation.

In the graph below, the Steem rewards per service over time are shown. You can see the "rest" category is really big this month. Nice to see more people upvoting my posts!

Conclusion and further thoughts

It's nice to see that the rewards I got on Hive are a lot higher than they were on Steem. It seems more "real" account are voting and less of the big accounts take up a huge part of the upvote/reward pool. It's also great that Hivereports is online now, so I can get an insight in the relative upvotes. Next month it should be more accurate since the data didn't go back till the start of the month and the aftermath of the soft fork resulted in an overestimation of some of the contribution.

What do you think about the numbers? And do you have any recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments below!
