Today I was part of a rather young group of relatives who spent some of the late morning scattering the ashes of my Uncle and Grandad.

This was done on the outskirts of our hometown of Macclesfield at a place called The Hollins, which over looks the town and was a favourite destination of theirs.

The grieving has been done and so today was quite cheerful and comical in places - it is best to cast ashes when a breeze is not present.

My brother and his wife are having their first child and so it was good to see them at least once before the girl arrives - due on my birthday, the 10th December.

I have to admit to being rather distant from Hive this week, as you will see in the Engagement League post tomorrow - it could be the first week in 3 years that I’ve not made the top 100. Anyway, the show goes on and it has allowed me to get on with some life stuff - like learning Spanish and how to do handstands.

I will write more on how I think I’ve been a lazy bastard for the past 20 years at some point, but this past week has felt personally productive for the first time in a long time.

I got back to Nottingham about an hour ago and thought I’d check out my just reopened local with the awesome beer. Due to the size of the place they can fit only a handful of people inside, and so I have a spot in the ‘beer garden’.

Well, at least I’m socially distant, and this India pale ale is superb.

A brief skim of Hive content and my summary is:

  • an influx of newer authors on trending
  • whales disgruntled with the rewards set-up
  • the 5 minute curation voting window thingy probably needs to go

What else is ‘new’?

————————-

I hope you are all well and I’ll try to be more engaging over the next week.

Have a good one!
