The lockdown period has become somewhat of a phrase that is used often, now. Needless to say, it is the smartest thing to do now in the wake of the COVID outbreak.

Some of my relatives were whining that they were being trapped within the four walls of their apartment and they are literally becoming more and more irritated.

Instead of sitting simply, sleeping and whining, you can do creative things and spend your time in a wise manner and did you know that you can also grow vegetable plants even in a small apartment.

Well, you certainly can and that is what I am going to write about today.

Don't have a pot ready?

Convert an old plastic holder/can or anything that resembles a pot. Try to fill mud from the ground or if you have old pots with mud, take it and mix and mash well. Put some of those vegetable waste in it too if you have not dumped your garbage yet.

Wait for a day or two. Now wet the mud gently - meaning sprinkle a little bit of water. If you can get organic manure or fertilizer, mix in some as well.

(sprouted seeds can also be used)

Plant a few seeds of vegetables - tomatoes, chilis, eggplant or okra - whatever you have in hand. Planting tomato seeds is easy as you may have tomatoes in hand as also red dried chilis.

*Water it daily but only sprinkle it carefully.

Waiting to see the saplings sprout is a good thing and meanwhile, you could read online about farming and get to know more about seeds and various methods of cultivation.

*Farming is the noblest job and most underrated too.

I hope you will find joy in doing it.

Thank me? No, just please share this post so that it reaches some person who feels frustrated right now.

Stay healthy and stay safe.
