Last year when I first joined this company, I was privileged to be able to also join them for the 2019 Chinese New Year dinner. During that time, the team wasn't all that big. We only had a little over 20 staff and were only renting one-floor unit as our headquarters. This year, we've expanded to over 30 staffs and we've also expanded next door. Several departments have increased in numbers especially my animation team. We are now sitting at 50% of the total company number which is 16 people.

Over this 1 year being in Omens, I am really grateful to have met some people in this company. This company has taught me a lot and have also open up a lot of opportunities for me. Team work-life is pretty dynamic and that means you get to learn life lessons every time. Some from the good and some from the bad. It is still pretty awesome compared to the previous companies that I've joined where you actually just work like slaves.

Every year the company would be celebrating Chinese New Year by throwing a company dinner. Chinese New Year is a big thing in Malaysia and other parts of Asia where Chinese people are a majority. We've decided to host our dinner at a restaurant called Jibby Chow, a halal restaurant because we also want to include our muslim friends.

The almighty yee sang

I was really looking forward to this lunch because I LOVEEEE the yee sang. The yee sang is a seasonal dish only available during Chinese New Year where friends and families would gather around the table and toss the ingredients laid in front. The superstitious part of it is the higher you toss, the more fortune and prosperity will befall you in the year. I toss for the fun sake and also because I love eating yee sang. It's a great appetizer before we proceed to more serious food.

The food was alright and at a budget, I really did enjoy the time spent with these peeps. This year, I'm hoping for better things to come. A boost in my career, more achievements under my belt, and definitely a happier life.

I also hope for the best for you this year. Whatever you will be facing, I'm sure you can pull through it. Humans were designed to have faith in everything we do, and so it is also by faith that we walk into this year with a hopeful heart.

Happy Hump Day!

Thank You
