Just look at those cabbages!

...and beans

Another angle of the beans.

What are these? Potatoes? Some tubers? Can't remember.

These look like kale

This is an image of fish ponds from a short distance.

The fish are bought as hatchlings, which means when they mature in about 8 months, they are all harvested at the same time.

The only criticism I had over the farming system here was the lack of use of the nutritious waste water from the ponds to irritate the crops. This is a popular option in aquaponic farm systems.

Owning a farm can put you in a position of great advantage. Not only do you feed off the land, but if done on a commercial scale, you get to sell your produce depending on how the season went.

When there is a crisis similar to what Greece went through a few years ago, you can have something to feed the family as money becomes scarce in the economy. People used to line up to withdraw limited amounts of cash as a result of austerity measures during the nation's economic crisis.

Those who had some advantage were farmers with food products, as they could simply feed off the land as they weathered the storm.
