With the change of name the team has new shareholders being Aston Martin and he has to do things differently. The team has to come first and not his own personal interests being his son. Lawrence has obviously been a good dad who has helped his son get to places where he possibly wouldn't without the help. Money has progressed his career and not his skills. Whose dad buys a team so their son has a guaranteed driving seat?

Currently the drivers for Racing Point are Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll so the better driver should stay on surely. The talk around the paddock is Sebastien Vettel is set to join the team next season so who misses out? Aston Martin are entering Formula One to be successful and carrying a family member is bad for business. Lance Stroll is under more pressure than ever as he has to doubly prove he is the best choice. source Stroll gets one up on Perez today but tomorrows race counts much more.

As a shareholder they will demand the best possible team and expect Lance Stroll to be replaced by Vettel next season. Family and business doesn't always work and dad Lawrence has no choice. Lawrence stroll cannot protect his son anymore and possibly the only solution is to have Lance as their test driver. The facts speak for themselves as he is just not good enough. Perez is quicker than Stroll even though Perez is not a top driver either. Today's qualifying however showed Lance come out on top against Perez, but he needs to deliver results if he has any chance of securing his seat.

When Force India had Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez as drivers they had to fight for their spot as Lawrence Stroll was taking over the team ownership bringing his son in as a driver. Perez did some underhand things on the track which were not sporting and some thought he should have been kicked out of the sport. Ocon eventually missed out as he didn't complete some races due to Perez's actions.

What a complete turn around as next season Stroll looks like he wont have a seat anywhere and will be on the out.Lance has this season to prove his worth as now the Racing point has shown it is the second fastest team on the track yet Lance hasn't shown the same pace as Perez on race day. Lance needs podiums now to make the Vettel story to disappear.

Money can buy you influence and a position to perform but if you don't have the talent or expertise you will fall short. Money cannot buy something you don't have and Lance needs to show he has what is required. His best bet is to deliver the results otherwise he will be pushed out.

There will be a flood of new drivers coming into the sport over the next couple of years as many more drivers from other events qualify for the AAA Super Licence.There are many drivers who have not proven themselves and have question marks over their heads. Many come from money and the sport should be demanding the best of the best.
