In the last post I wrote about Blockchains being the future of websites found here

.....I outlined how Blockchain will be the future of websites. If you missed it, please click here to catch up. Back in the day's to build a website, you'd need to be quite proficient in HTML programming, maybe CSS and a little of Java script, depending on the complexity of the site. I've once personally built a business website using just HTML,

  • Difficulty It was pretty basic, all it needed was a home page, about, contact, and gallery, then it had scrolling images, all pure HTML. All I did was some more research on the internet than what I'd been thought in school and boom, done. You know how the internet can be lol.

  • Time Well I was a 300Level Computer science student at the time, we were home for summer and I was spending mine at a cousins, so it took me a couple of days, maybe a week and half at most and I worked mostly in the evenings when the generator was on because having light in the day was a dream where we lived.

Today, you can build a website in 5 minutes because of improvement in technology, worst best part of is that you don't even have to know shit about HTML and the site is going to come out pretty with a lot of fancy features depending on the Wordpress template you decide to use.

Speaking of WordPress, this was a major evolution in building of websites, with WordPress, anyone, anywhere with a computer device and internet can launch a website for free in less than 10 minutes. In the world today, there are over 1 billion websites, and more than 50% was built using Wordpress.

Surely like every other technological paradigm, people who think they can do it better will always exist, this has led to the creation of other website building platforms like Wix, Joomla, each with their different capabilities but one goal, make building websites as easy as possible.

Interestingly, It's the era of Blockchain now and that same evolution is taking place again right before our eyes. Technology is moving at the speed of thought! A decade ago it took a surmountable amount of technical proficiency to build a blockchain application, its a different story today, with applications like Alchemy.

Alchemy provides the leading blockchain development platform powering millions of users in 197 countries worldwide. Our mission is to provide developers with the fundamental building blocks they need to create the future of technology. Source

Alchemy is popular amongst a lot of Ethereum Dapps due to the tools and infrastructure they provide to spur developments of applications on the chain like Kyber Network and Cryptokitties. This will be the pattern of how things will evolve over time. Alchemy is backed by investors like Will Smith and Jay Z, which only tells me one thing, the world is embracing blockchain more than ever and has even penetrated into the entertainment industry.

Although without a doubt, most people still have no idea when it comes to developing blockchain applications, just like a huge percentage of people today still can't build a simple website. I'm part of that percentage who can't build shit on blockchain, but in few more years from now, this won't be the story, almost anyone with access to a computer device and internet will be able to deploy a blockchain application.

In the future, there will be tools that would be as easy as the drag and drop features we have on Wordpress templates today which will be used to build Dapps or blockchains accessible to anyone.

While my assumptions might be light years away, projects like Open Orchard are already in the works building infrastructures to further empower developers and unburden blockchain development to its bearest minimum, pioneered by a select team of experienced and talented blockchain devs.

In order to add the most value to the Hive ecosystem, and the blockchain ecosystem more generally, we have to build solutions that Hive does not itself offer. No blockchain is capable of supporting media storage, real-time operations or ephemeral communications at scale. This has left many blockchain-powered applications lacking in basic functionalities like fast, easy, and free account creation, easy login, and encrypted messaging. All of these features will be on display in our social networking and encrypted messaging application, OpenLink, which will be launching with Hive integration to Beta testers soon. Source

The establishment of Open Orchard has further led to the innovation of two projects that play important roles in the future of Blockchain development, Koinos and Odesi, Koinos is supposed to be a blockchain while Odesi will be a suite of microservices, take a breath, this is the scope,

Koinos will be an evolution in the capabilities of Blockchains by being capable of running every common coding language like Java, Python, Php and Rust, making Koinos automatically developer friendly, unlike some blockchains where you have to learn or know and use a specific language like solidity before you can build an application. (No shades intended)

This is where it gets interesting, traditional application developers will be able to build their applications on Koinos blockchain without the need of blockchain smart contract tech expertise, this is where Odesi comes to play, Odesi acts as the mid-point between Koinos and application developers providing them with the micro-services they need to operate their applications on the blockchain along with its intricate incentivizing attribute of the Koinos blockchain technology.

Through the success/failure of this entire project, we are making a major transition/progress in the world of technology, now the focus is on developers, how long do you think it will take to come to anyone just like websites did? Don't get me wrong, a professionally built website programmed in HTML works fine and is sometimes even advised for website building than Wordpress, if you have the tech-pertise or resource to hire someone with one.

For me, I can't even compare both evolutions because for the first time in the evolution of humanity, technology is giving the world a major solution by providing them with tools that will make life easier for everybody, okay maybe not first passé, computers were first, then the internet, then the bkockchain. I'm glad to watch it all unravel, bits by bits we will get there, or rather, blocks by blocks 😡🌚.

Do you think a billion website could be powered by blockchain in the future? Read this post

Disclaimer While most of my assumptions are futuristic, it is interesting to think about. Just sharing my thoughts.

Thank you for reading. Cheers to the future.
