Today the crypto space was full of news about Paypal and Bitcoin. It seems that someone from the company has filtered information regarding their plans to support Bitcoin in their platform.

The most important crypto news websites like Coindesk, Cointegraph and Cryptonews talk about that so we can give some credibility to it.

This is HUGE for Bitcoin

I don't know if you are aware of how big could be if Paypal finally decides to support Bitcoin purchases. To put things into perspective, just think about the number of active users that could potentially buy and HODL Bitcoin with a couple of clicks.

In the first quarter of 2020, there were 325 million active PayPal accounts worldwide, representing a 17 percent year-on-year growth.

Obviously the market reacted positively to this rumor, and currently BTC is trading above $9,600.

There are some facts that let me think that even if this is not 100% true, Paypal is seriously considering blockchain options for the future.

Paypal is one of the leaders of the market, they will not accept to lose its dominance easily and will do everything they can to keep this power. This 2020 they were recruiting blockchain engineers to their teams in California, and as their CTO once said: We want to have our own view of Blockchain.

They are trying to adapt to this new paradigm, I think is probable that they will suppot crypto in the future.
