Hello!

Approximately 20 hours ago the @splinterlands twitter account informed that the Game has moved to the HIVE Blockchain successfully. The previously named Steem Monsters dApp decided to make the transition from the Steem Blockchain to the Hive Blockchain 14 days ago.

You can see more details on their announcement here. But to summarize they made the decision for the following reasons:

As some of you have heard, it seems that there is a surprise hard fork planned for the Steem blockchain within the next 24 hours. We don't know exactly what this hard fork entails and have been given no notice about it or a chance to review or test the changes. This presents a huge, and unacceptable risk to the game. We cannot continue to operate on a chain where the changes aren't public and we are not given adequate time for testing and review.

Basically, since the adquisition of Steemit INC by Justin Sun, the Steem ecosystem became vulnerable to centralization and the community decided to make a new fork and name it HIVE.
In that fork they didn't include the Steemit INC stake (promised for development) and started a new project with the existing community. It was an instant success and almost all of the community moved to the new chain.

Splinterlands was the most important dApp of the Steem Blockchain and with the decision to move the circle has been closed. Almost all of the dApps and community members have moved to HIVE.

My results playing Splinterlands

Basically in Splinterlands you really own a deck of cards that can be:

  • Combined to gain levels
  • Converted to Crypto
  • Trade with anyone
  • Sold on multiple platforms
  • Leased to other players

I am not sure exactly how much I have spent in the game but it should be around 50$, and now my deck is valued at more than 262$. I've checked and I just bought 4 packs and I bought some cards directly in-the-game. The return on the investment made in Splinterlands is amazing, I made almost 500% ROI. In addition last May I managed to reach the CHAMPION III Level, which is an amazing position in the Leaderboards. I captured that moment:

The website https://www.stateofthedapps.com/ is already tracking the in-game accounts transacting and they are leading the Game category. They are actually showing 3.200 active users in the last 24h, but they are averaging 4.000-4.500 normally. Find here the details:

I have also read that the Ethereum games are struggling to retain users now that the gas fees are really high. This is something that didn't happen in the HIVE blockchain as the transactions are free and just take 3 seconds to confirm.
