I've been wanting to put something like this together for a while. Could of swore I did one back in 2018 but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I'm not even sure where to start as there is so much to cover. I guess I'll first start with some of the basics.

Stacking Terms

These are some common words used in the stacking/coin community.

LCS- Local Coin Shop

Obverse- This is the Face or Feature side of the coin.

Reverse- Opposite of Obverse, this is the "tails" side of the coin

Troy Ounce- Unlike an Avoirdupois ounce (28.35 grams) the Troy Ounce is 31.1 grams

Junk Silver- Commonly referred to as "junk, Constitutional or 90% silver is pre-1964 US coinage

Round- Rounds are minted by private mints with no face value

Coin- Coins are minted by Governments, have a face value on them and are usually legal tender

Numismatic- These coins have value that is above the melt price and mostly collectibles with higher premiums

Bullion- Gold or Silver in Bar or Ingot form, usually bought in bulk at lower premium

More terms to be added as I update this post.

Helpful Websites

These are some of the websites I use when looking things up.

PCGS Price Guide- This site covers most all US coins. You can even find them for sale and examples of coin grades.

Coinflation- Here you can find the melt value of circulating and junk silver.

All Engelhard- You won't find more information on Engelhard bars anywhere else. This is a one stop shop.

Here is a list from Money.com of some other helpful sites but the above 3 are my favorite.

Where to buy online?

This is going to be a hard one to cover. There are so many small mints and community members who pour their own silver. I'll try to cover the main ones.

Apmex- This is probably the biggest online retailer of Coins, Bars and Bullion. They have pretty much everything.

Kitco- Want to look at the metals prices? Check them out here and pick some up while you're at it!

JM Bullion- Another of the larger coin/bullion suppliers

SD Bullion- A local for us Michiganders. Too bad I've had issues with the shipping taking forever.

SilverTowne- The producers of one of my favorite symbols, The Prospector!

Provident Metals- These guys put out some great coins that are their own design along with the regular Gold and Silver stuff

Scottsdale Mint- When I can't find silver anywhere else, check these guys out.

BGASC- It stands for Buy Gold and Silver Coins and they have a great selection.

This list could go on and on but these are some of the bigger retailers I've had luck with in the past. If you have any questions about any of the above info, please don't hesitate to ask. I'd be more than happy to help.

Another great way to start investing in 24k Gold and Platinum is Mene. You can sign up below to start your Metals Investing Journey. By clicking the Mene pic, it will take you to create an account and earn a free $5 credit towards your first purchase. It's the perfect way to invest in fractional pieces without breaking the bank.
