COVID-19 serological test

Dopo quasi 3 mesi di confino a casa dei suoceri domani torniamo a casa nostra, dal Piemonte dobbiamo spostarci in Lombardia, per questo motivo abbiamo fatto, a pagamento, il famoso test sierologico del COVID-19, nella versione tipo test di gravidanza: una barretta negativo, due barrette positivo.

Si tratta di un test velocissimo, indolore, affidabile e credo non sarebbe nemmeno molto costoso se non si dovesse farlo privatamente.

Non so dire se purtroppo o per fortuna siamo risultati, sia io che mia moglie, negativi.

Da un certo punto di vista avremmo preferito risultare positivi, questo avrebbe significato che eravamo entrati in contatto con la malattia e, pur avendola fatta, era stata completamente asintomatica.

Viceversa il fatto che siamo negativi ci dice che gli arresti domiciliari sono serviti ad evitare di entrare in contatto con la malattia, ma questo ci espone alla possibilità di contrarla in futuro.

Il lato positivo del fatto di essere negativi è che non dobbiamo fare il tampone e la quarantena, almeno fino al risultato del tampone, ma significa anche che, tornando a casa, entreremo inevitabilmente in contatto con molte altre persone, pur cercando di fare attenzione e, quindi, potremmo contrarre la malattia che, fino ad ora, evidentemente abbiamo evitato.

Qualcuno di voi ha fatto il test sierologico con le due gocce di sangue, quello con prelievo oppure il tampone?

Cosa pensate della situazione attuale?

Secondo me i test come quello che abbiamo fatto noi andrebbero fatti a tappeto al 100% della poplazione per cercare di capire l'entità reale della diffusione della malattia e per monitorare la sua evoluzione adesso che la stretta sugli spostamenti si è allentata.

It is a very fast, painless, reliable test and I think it wouldn't be very expensive if you didn't have to do it privately.

I can't say whether unfortunately or fortunately, both me and my wife were negative.

From a certain point of view we would have preferred to be positive, this would have meant that we had come into contact with the disease and, although having done it, had been completely asymptomatic.

Conversely, the fact that we are negative tells us that house arrest has served to avoid coming into contact with the disease, but this exposes us to the possibility of contracting it in the future.

The positive side of being negative is that we don't have to do the swab and quarantine, at least until the result of the swab, but it also means that, returning home, we will inevitably get in touch with many other people, while trying to be careful and , therefore, we could contract the disease that, until now, we have evidently avoided.

In my opinion, tests like what we did should be done at 100% of the population to try to understand the real extent of the spread of the disease and to monitor its evolution now that the squeeze on travel has eased.
