*HIVE ON!

Carlo

Hello everybody,

you don't know how good it is for me to be able to write posts like this, because they are a testimony of the ferment around Hive and the progress that is made day by day.

I haven't seen so much enthusiasm since Steem's golden age, that maybe they weren't so precious but they were just a mirror of the trend of the prices; so with values over 8 dollars it was easy that the community was enthusiastic and that the desire to create, participate and be part of a project was at an all-time high. But then the quotations collapsed first under the dollar and then in the abyss towards 15 cents and of all the projects put in the pipeline not even one saw the light.

*For Hive it's all different because we already started from very low prices to return almost immediately after the bull run that we all knew was just a momentary and totally irrational phase. So all the developments, investments and efforts that are being made on various fronts are motivated only by the desire to build something unique and that can work over time.

*Today I am witnessing two aspects of the blockchain of Hive that have attracted my attention and fit perfectly into the concept just expressed.

*The first and most important is the Hard Fork 24 which will affect Hive and which for us will be the first real HF, if we don't consider what forked Steem and from which our blockchain was born.

The novelties that this HF24 will introduce will be very technical and only in mini-part understandable for us common users.

The most interesting thing in my opinion is *the introduction of that measure of protection of the blockchain from external attacks aimed at taking control or hostile falls, a very fitting example is the one concerning Justin Sun in taking Steem by imposing his Witnesses (fake) against those of consent voted according to the will of the community. In fact this measure will impose a 30 days wait for every new amount of Hive put in stake (then transformed in Hive Power) to participate in the vote of the Witnesses. In this way every attempt to impose its own witnesses, maybe fake like Sun's for Steem, will be intercepted in time and will allow the community to take the necessary precautions.

In short, *a corrective measure of the DPoS system that could correct one of the critical issues that emerged in Steem.

Please summarize the other measures that will be implemented with HF24:

  • First of all we will have **a clear improvement of the blockchain infrastructure to allow Devs and insiders to run nodes at significantly lower costs and with greater simplicity; in fact, making Hive easier, faster and cheaper to run has always been one of the key points of the "manifesto" with which Hive was launched, to the benefit of better decentralisation.
  • Reintegration of some users in the initial airdrop. A number of users mistakenly excluded from the initial Airdrop will be able to take possession of what they were entitled to; in addition, another group of users, subject to a community vote, will participate in this second part of the Airdrop.
  • Change the blockchain ID,* which was initially left unchanged to allow DApps to migrate to the Hive more easily and quickly. With this change Hive will have an identity of its own. It is a change that will tell us little as we are not developers, but what is stated will be critical to secure access to the blockchain and doing so now is necessary before other projects and DApps join the blockchain.

This is what will happen with the HF24 scheduled by the end of the month; it is currently being tested and if there are no problems, the stated timeline should be adhered to.

The other news I wanted to tell you about is *the integration of the DApps of our blockchain on Dapp.com!

This site is one of the largest containers of decentralized applications and traces the DApps of several blockchain: Ethereum, Tron, EOS, NEO, Steem, Klaytn, TomoChain, IOST, Terra, Vexanium, ICON, Chiliz.. and since yesterday also HIVE!

I know it may seem like little news, bearing in mind that the Hive DApps are already tracked in DappReview, State of the Dapps and DappRadar... but in my opinion it's all advertising for our blockchain as it could attract new users and especially new developers, since this site is mostly aimed at professionals.

But above all it allows us to compare the traffic of decentralized applications of Hive with that of other blockchain and give us the pulse of the situation on how things are actually going globally and not only in our small microcosm.

I think it takes a few more days for the tracking of our DApps to be complete, but then we can actually compare ourselves to others and see where we are. But I repeat, just the fact that we are part of a small number of blockchains tracked by this site is a source of pride and confidence on the future path of our blockchain.

I hope to write more posts like this one because the meaning would be just a continuous evolution of HIVE to tell you about.
You know that I am always attentive to this issue and so if you don't have time to catch up follow me and I promise I will keep you updated.
In any case I hope to have passed on to you some of my enthusiasm for this adventure called Hive and why I think it is worth living it, not necessarily investing money but just simply participating in the life of the community!

Now all that remains is to wish you a good weekend and... *HIVE ON!
