Sex Education 2: dirty but elegant

It seems like years have passed since Sex Education landed on Netflix in January 2019. It's only been a year. A year so full of beautiful TV series that it seems almost "old" a very young TV series. Right on time, with the arrival of the new year comes the second season of the successful series starring Gillian Anderson and Asa Butterfield. Luckily for us this season has been exciting, lively and fresh as the first one. In particular it was pleasant to see that there was no static compared to the first season but how the authors have tried to improve and expand the themes and stories to tell. Always sex at the center to convey everything but much more importance to psychology and especially to the trauma of the main characters. Many important themes were addressed, one of them being the harassment of women, young women, often so unripe that they cannot even distinguish a sexual ambush from a flirt. But the traumas are there, ready to emerge suddenly and it's nice that Sex Education decided to talk about them. The love affair between Maeve and Otis has also had a nice touch. Impossible like Ross and Rachel's, we have seen the two touch each other without ever touching and we close with both so close that we know they will never meet in the near future. The theme of homosexuality thanks to Adam and Eric's characters had a lot of space. So many themes dealt with with the usual delicacy in a context often noisy, energizing and vital as you could imagine in a high school. Promoted with honors and ready to remind us why Sex Education is so loved by teenagers and adults.

Sembrano trascorsi anni da quando Sex Education è approdata su Netflix nel gennaio 2019. E' invece trascorso appunto solo un anno. Un anno talmente denso di bellissime serie tv da far sembrare quasi "vecchia" una serie tv giovanissima. Puntualissima, con l'arrivo del nuovo anno arriva la seconda stagione della fortunata serie con protagonisti Gillian Anderson ed Asa Butterfield. Per nostra fortuna anche questa stagione è stata appassionante, vivace e fresca come la prima. In particolare è stato piacevole constatare che non ci sia stata staticità rispetto alla prime stagione ma come gli autori abbiano cercato di migliorare ed ampliare tematiche e storie da raccontare. Sempre il sesso al centro a veicolare tutto ma molta più importanza alla psicologia e soprattutto ai traumi dei personaggi principali. Sono stati affrontati tanti temi importanti, uno su tutti quello delle molestie alle donne, alle giovani donne, spesso talmente acerbe da non riuscire neppure a distinguere un agguato sessuale da un flirt. I traumi sono però li, pronti ad affiorare all'improvviso ed è bello che Sex Education abbia deciso di parlarne. Anche la storia d'amore tra Maeve ed Otis ha avuto un bel trattamento. Impossibile come quella di Ross e Rachel, abbiamo visto più volte i 2 sfiorarsi senza toccarsi mai e chiudiamo con entrambi talmente vicini da sapere che non si incontreranno mai in un prossimo futuro. Il tema dell'omosessualità grazie ad i personaggi di Adam ed Eric ha avuto largo spazio. Tanti temi trattati insomma, con la solita delicatezza in un contesto spesso chiassoso, energizzante e vitale come quello che potreste immaginare in un liceo. Promossa a pieni voti insomma e pronta a ricordarci davvero perchè Sex Education sia cosi amata da teenager ed adulti.
