We Are Always IN TIME
Yesterday while in couch surfing mode, watching the movie Runner Runner (pretty ok-ish movie: entertaining enough to keep on watching) during an advertisement block, I was presented with the next movie they will air straight after this one: In Time. A decent movie with a great concept; The new currency of life is TIME, nothing else. No Euro, No Dollar, No Bitcoin, No Steem, and No HIVE.
The later movie I've already seen a few years ago; I even wrote about it on Steem (here). Since I had nothing better to do, I decided to watch this movie again.
While back then the concept of TIME seemed to hunt me; Now the movie title is very appropriate in another way; For instance the planned fork from the Steem chain creating the sister chain HIVE so many in our community seem to be so positive about, myself included.
Am I IN TIME?
Yesterday I thought I would've posted my last article to the current chain, but guess not :) I certainly hope I'm IN TIME with this post to be published to the Steem chain as well as being IN TIME to be included in the HIVE chain. It seems I can view all my Steem posts in the new HIVE blogging user interface (https://hive.blog) already, but since the HIVE chain is scheduled to be born at 10AM (EST) which is about 3 hours from now, I suppose I'm IN TIME.
Are We IN TIME?
Are we IN TIME with moving away from TRON and Justin? I suppose we are. Yesterday it became clear Justin is starting to censor the Steem content. At the Steemit.com user interface several posts are not shown, such as the post by blocktrades informing us about HIVE (check the difference: Steemit post history and Steempeak post history). Sure, the actions of Justin and TRON are based on the current situation we are in and the execution plan of HIVE, but this gives us - me - the first proof the way Justin and TRON do business is not at all what decentralisation and crypto world is about. Therefore I suppose we are EXACTLY IN TIME to leave Justin and TRON behind.
I was NOT IN TIME
Most of the time when the announcement is made to create a new chain based on an existing chain - including free airdrops - traders want to get in driving the value of the source coin/token up. Hence, the day after the HIVE announcement I started following the actions around Steem and SBD to determine if I should take part of the action. Sure, some movements where visible, but too little for me to actually want to take part of this in one or the other way (buy more Steem, sell Steem, sell SBD or something like that). Then when I woke-up yesterday morning and checked the nightly actions, I discoverd Steem made a fantastic run up to above the 8000 satoshi mark when I was in dreamland, but it was back again at around the 5000 satoshi mark the moment I checked. Darn!
Last night I was hoping for another run to 8000 satoshi (or higher); Went into couch surfing mode (watching all these movies) while I also kept a close eye on the actions around Steem and SBD. Got myself into only a few hours of sleep because of this, but could only conclude when I woke up this morning really early, the hope was just hope and nothing close to the reality. Guess the Koreans and other Asians burned all their money already on Steem and don't see a need to have the value set at another high.
As we speak, Bitcoin is up, but Steem is around 4000 satoshi mark; Half of what it was a little more than 24 hours ago.
Therefor I can conclude: I was NOT IN TIME to get the best out of this run on Steem and SBD.
Anyway, doesn't matter. Even when coins are dropped on the exchanges after a hardfork, we may benefit another few days of value push before many will want to sell everything. Therefore I may still be IN TIME to get some decent value for my Steem and SBD :) And when not, nothing lost as well. We have HIVE to concentrate on: Soon...Very Very SOON! :)
FYI: When I talk about coin and token value, I always take Bitcoin as the base currency, no FIAT currency. Since I do believe BTC will increase in value over time, much more than any other coin or token, therefore the reference to BTC is a much better one when making trading decisions imho.
We are Always IN TIME
Don't know how it is with you, but with my friends, the concept of time doesn't exists.
For instance, I have friends in my close circle I may not see or speak with for a entire year, but we stay close friends who will help and be there for each other no matter what. Time is no issue at all. Time will not destroy these true friendships. Time has no role.
When we apply this to our community, see each other as friends, time doesn't play any role as well. We can be away from Steem (and soon HIVE) for some time, but when coming back we are - instantly - part of the community again. Sure we have our differences, but hey, that actually makes our community as strong as it is and somehow it enriches our lives (at least you enrich my life for sure!)
Since I became active in our community - in front and behind the scenes - about three years ago, our community became a part of my life; You grew on me in such a way I cannot leave you behind. I suppose you became part of my circle of friends in which the concept of TIME doesn't exist.
Therefore I - we - can conclude, as a community we are always IN TIME, since time doesn't play a role at all.
