Marala Headworks is situated on the Chenab River near Sialkot, Pakistan. This headwork has been working since 1906 but this Marala Barrage was constructed in 1968. This is a very beautiful place and also a very favorite picnic spot. One day, My friends and I decided to visit this beautiful place. So we started our journey from Islamabad early morning and after 5 hours drive, we reached there.

Headmarala is birding heaven. All year round birds come and spend some time here. On Headmarala there are many water crossings. These bridges also provide a vintage spot for fishing. Many fishermen place fishing nets in different places.

Headmarala is a border area of Pakistan with India. So the army looks after this area and has some reinforcement. Still, for tourists, they have allowed some area to visit and enjoy the scenery. They have allocated some area for a picnic and also some for boating. The sunset of this place is remarkable. If you are a nature lover then you will love these scenes.
