I was beginning to think that COVID was a hoax.

Then it came home. The affected person is sick and in pain, their lips have turned blue, there are bouts of symptoms I didn't even know happened. They are usually strong and healthy.

Leads me to believe that all those people who think they caught covid because they had a "bad cough" that lasted for weeks don't know what they are talking about. Then again, it affects everyone differently. So maybe.

I have also taken a walk here in downtown Alameda. Seeing business after business boarded up and the economic collapse that is happening makes me realize that we can't stay closed for a lot longer.

We have to open back up.

But riots, and openings are making the covid cases go up, and I can't help but criticize the silly rules that are being implemented and enforced.

On June 12 San Diego County Movie Theatres reopened and the rules are silly.

Face masks must be worn at all times, except for when snacks are being consumed.

Only 25% of the movie theatre will be filled, and you can eat and drink, as long as when you take a break from eating you put on a mask.

WIll that really stop the spread of covid?

Unlikely.

Other places reopening:

  • Gyms
  • Bars and wineries
  • Swimming pools, including condominium and community pools
  • Hotels and other rental properties for tourism and individual travel
  • Card rooms, racetracks and satellite wagering facilities
  • Family entertainment (bowling alleys, batting cages)

  • Film/TV production
  • Professional sports without spectators
