Bitcoin may soon be accepted by McDonald’s, Walmart via Lightning Network

source The adoption of Bitcoin is gradually improving and in few years it might even be used as a regular payment currency in stores, restaurant and anything that involves payment. Recently the founder of Zap, Jack Mallers made an announcement this week that he will be bringing back Bitcoin to its former glory or in the case it’s root, that is, the use of lightning wallet.

According to Jack Mallers, he said any platform or website that uses shopify online card transactions will now be allowed to process payments using Bitcoin lightning network for the process. He went further saying “Any online merchant that uses Shopify can accept payments without the 1949 boomer network, receive it instantly, cash final, no intermediary no 3% fee” source Among the biggest retailers that was mentioned during the presentation, Best Buy, McDonald’s, Home Depot and Walmart was mentioned to start implementing the lightning network for Bitcoin payment and also Jack Mallers claims over 40,000 storefronts will also start accepting Bitcoin via the lightning network also but the concerned is how they will start accepting it because the details are still vague.

In case you wondering what the lightning network is all about, it is a network that allows a user send or receive Bitcoin in an easy and cheaper way outside of the main blockchain. Some use cases of the lightning network are peer-to-peer in Paxful exchange platform and also on Twitter when once can send or receive tips as Bitcoin through the lightning network. What makes the lightning network really special is that it’s fast and relatively cheap to use.

Since the presentation of Jack Mallers, there have been many supports and rooting for him.
