How was that robot burger? In my previous post I discussed the automated coffee barista machine. Now it looks like America’s favorite meal may also become fully automated. The all American hamburger 🍔 deployed by a machine.

Now let that concept sink in. No human interaction between the user and your meal. The machine makes the order from chopping tomato to cooking the hamburger patty. The ground beef is also put into patty form automatically.

The freshly baked hamburger bun is sliced to perfection and toasted. Sauces are also squirted on the bun. Fresh cheese is sliced to create a delicious meal. The process itself takes five minutes and costs $6. Not bad for a gourmet burger.

I noticed this concept back in 2018 from a company called creator. This startup basically has an operation in the Bay Area making automated fresh to order burgers. The human element is eliminated except for maintenance/tending.

Checking the Yelp reviews the restaurant/machine has 113 5 star reviews. Not too shabby. Yet what are the bigger implications for society? And has Padora’s automated box been opened?

As I have discussed previously what is to stop any national food chain from implementing this technology? Creator has been around for a couple of years with a limited track record. However, make no mistake about it. It is only a matter of time before a big corporate swoops in.

Covid has changed the game for the restaurant business. Contactless delivery and limited human interaction is now the norm in the food industry. Regardless, automation will become the focal point for most board rooms. Although no technology is perfect it appears the automated reality is taking shape.
