Is it free to internet?

I was chatting with some of my friends this morning and mentioned how I wonder if there aren’t more people on the hive. Especially in countries that can be significant in small amounts. He brought something that I didn't know had actually happened, at least not this way.

Free internet

Living in Finland, the government has made a provision that makes access to the internet as a right and is guaranteed to some degree. The connection is not fast though. I think it's 2 mega. This is enough to enable people to do all their basic internet stuff (like paying taxes) from home. However, most people do not use this provision. They have a mobile that runs 4 / 5G or has a hardware fiber connection. Finland is home to Nokia and one of the most technologically educated countries in the world, the connections are good and so far I know, there is no cap on data usage and not for many years.

Of course, this is not the same everywhere.

The only gate

A friend was telling me where he currently lives. Data can be expensive and hive quite heavy data. However, it is possible to get "free" subsidized internet that gives access to certain sites. For example, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, etc. means that Facebook pays so that they can basically access a userbase or more precisely, a customer base.

He further mentioned that government agencies need to publish their updates on social media as this is the only way people have access to the internet. It's a lot like casinos that have no windows, no clocks and a free buffet. Although most are not captive listeners. It’s one that is largely bound up in economic excitement and it misses for free that there’s no such thing as this free lunch.

Owned at any cost

This is a great incredible situation considering that a number of corporations (Facebook, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon) simply do not suck up most of the data transferred to the Internet and do not table. It will also be seen that they have the ability to restrict access to what they have. And, governments are enabling them. It's pretty insane.

Knowledge is power because of how it is used and these corporations are real. They put to good use what they know. Since they simply were not able to divide their markets. They have been able to engineer the environment to ensure that they can control every aspect of it. Thinking about how modern social media can be an important social communication medium in addition to the modern selection process, a population that simply has access to information provided through a narrow gateway is at a very high risk of going out of action or becoming effective.

Government services are pushing their own information through these same gateways. Encouragement to skew opinions and the resulting results are also very high. Because how the grabs will take over is close to complete and unlimited power over the population. Control the narrative held in public, control the public.

Connected for confusion

There is a lot of flawed motivation about Mars when it comes to data distribution. Because it encourages more reliance and less responsibility on how it is eaten. Through the power of AI algorithms, granular identification, segmentation and targeting can be applied easily and without noise. Because there is no competition in the information market. It makes it designed to affect the population in order to extract and drive up as much value as possible. Is an informative and state-sanctioned monopoly.

In many ways it is a catch-22 situation because people cannot access the internet on their own. Yet the access they get is for their own earnings. Limits their ability to gain experience. Instead, they are driven by the use of more passive information that leads to the active use of their disposable products and services. Which has little or no chance of producing personal value.

And when things get bad enough, these same gateways will be used to rally the people to the end of whatever authority they choose, and that authority is probably going to be.
