LEO Finance usability is great and improvements are made from week to week. We are all focusing on blogging and the specific features from there or on the wallet operations when we want either to transfer, stake or now even exchange LEO using the LeoInfra integration. We are using same features over and over again, but probably just few of us go and explore the full capabilities of LEO Finance.

Some features that I rarely used or simply overlook right from the beginning of LEO Finance are the available options from the Settings menu. Pushing the Settings menu, some nice options reveal ourselves that we can customize as we want. Let's do a walkthrough them and see what they do.

  • Default Vote Weight for Posts: This option lets us to select the default vote weight (percentage) for posts (1-100) and either optimize it or size it to curate more authors. This is specific for posts and usually those have a higher percentage of curation compared to the comments.
  • Default Vote Weight for Comments: This option lets us to select the default vote weight (percentage) for comments (1-100) and we can give a little rewards also for this. Usually this is much lower than the vote weight for posts, but it is really great that we have different parameter to set it up and ease our routine on the site.
  • Default Post Reward: It allows us to select the default reward option for new post and it has quite many interesting options on this - 50% HBD and 50% HP, 100% Hive Power, Burn, Donate to Hive fund or Decline. I think that most of us are using the "50% HBD and 50% HP" but it is quite great to have the other options to choose from as well.
  • Add @leofinance as a Beneficiary: In the beginning the community would have beneficiaries as mandatory and set to a specific percentage. Here it is optional, it is defaulted to know and we can enable to have the @leofinance as a 5% beneficiary for your new posts. We can switch it on or off whenever we want to and each post will inherit the setting from when they are published.
  • Dark Mode: We all are using it probably, but from here we have additional option beside the Default (White) and Lights Out (Black) and that is also the Dim option (Dark Blue). I still prefer the Lights Out, but it is a great way to set different theme and probably can be extended in the future as well.
  • Default API Node: This parameter lets us choose the API node used to retrieve data from the Hive Blockchain. We all know that are some nodes more stable than others and we can change them from here.

The Settings menu offers us quite a few options and let's us set them based on the routing from the site. A place to customize things as we wish and also which could be extended in the future. I discovered them probably after more than one month from when LEO Finance was released so I thought that probably I was not the only one and wanted to share this also with you and to add some explanations for it. Hopefully you find this useful and do the setup based on your posting or curation routine.
