Just a couple of days ago I talked about how there's some silly money in the football industry, and I highlighted how one player in Arsenal could earn up to $400k per week. As if that wasn't cool enough, the club recently signed a deal with a cryptocurrency betting platform.

I was scrolling through Arsenal's page in search of random information about the club, players and whatnot, then I ran into this bit of interesting news. The story is that Arsenal football club signed a three year deal with Estonian based cryptocurrency betting platform called Sportsnet

According to the post by the biggest football club in London, this deal will require that Arsenal participates in some sports development capacity, particularly with the U-16 female national team of Estonia.

With a market value of slightly over $2.2Billion according to Forbes and over 100 million followers across centralised social media, this deal between Sportsbet and Arsenal represents a huge opportunity for both parties.

The news didn't get much coverage because it wasn't talking about Arsenal signing new players or the usual stuff that gets attention. It sort of went under the radar in my opinion, but hopefully more people will start talking about it.

This deal represents a big step in the right direction for cryptocurrency as a whole. How I see it, a large corporation is getting involved with cryptocurrencies and invariably bringing more interested eyes/investors into the industry.

As an Arsenal fan, I'm particularly pleased by this innovative step in the right direction. Cryptocurrencies are here to stay, and we're trying to position ourself in the best position to benefit from the immense potential in the technology. Just like teams like Watford and Aston Villa to name a few, Arsenal football club is now a player in the crypto industry.
