There are certain decisions I have made that keep me pensive for a bit, wondering if I have done wrong or right to my neighbour. In these trying times, people are looking for investment opportunities more than ever, and in my opinion, cryptocurrency has been a rather lucrative option, despite the volatility and whatnot.

I got into crypto in December of 2017, completely willingly and of course, free of charge through Steem. In that space, I have amassed a reasonable amount through blogging, and as my curiosity rose, I got my hands on a few other alts that I resonated with their projects. All these decisions were risked that I willingly chose to bear, and whatever happened to my investment was all on me.

A few days ago, I did some light shilling of Vite blockchain, and a few of my friends both on Hive and outside took an interest. With people like @runicar and the other "crypto people" around, they already know the risks involved and will only use the information presented to make their own decision, it is very easy to have conversations about investment, staking rewards and whatnot.

However, for people outside the loop who have zero knowledge about cryptocurrency and blockchain, and simply want to throw their money at a project because it promises gains, I find it hard to have meaningful conversations with. often time, my tone comes off as discouraging, and this is for good reason too.

Yesterday, I was faced with another one of those dilemmas, and I handled it in a way that sort of bothers me, even though I feel it is for the best. I was approached by a certain individual whom we share a mutual friend that is interested in buying and Staking the aforementioned VX in Vite blockchain. Now, the problem is that he has no knowledge whatsoever of cryptocurrency and his intention was to give me money to invest and earn dividend for him.

Naturally, I took the discouraging approach and informed him of the risks involved, which actually spooked him. He hasn't replied since and that's something I can live with. So after our 30-minute conversation where I highlighted the dangers of cryptocurrency, the wrongs that could happen and how I can't make any promises or assurances, he went radio silent.

Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing in the situation, and I'd like to know if other people also face a similar challenge and would like to know how you handle the situation.
