If you've not heard yet, well Polkadot is about to start the Parachain auctions and there can only be 100 parachain getting into the ecosystem. That would mostly likely be the main cause of DOT to pump up as projects are buying DOT to stake it.
For people like you and me, we are able to get in the action by holding our DOTs and vote on projects. (more like staking)
So instead of going thru the hassle of creating a polkadot.js wallet and such and then learning everything, you could just head over to Binance Earn and click on DOT - vote !
Here you can see which projects are using the "Crowdloan" function and as long as you have DOTs, you can pledge and lock your DOT here.
