So today when I opened my email I got what I think is my first ever email newsletter from Steemit inc. My eyes raised a little but I was very intrigued.

You can't see it all in my image but it basically points out some interesting post we should take a look at from their 100 days of steem project. I had heard of project which is a way highlight 100 days of different projects or challenges happening for 100 days.

The newsletter ended by saying "When is the last time you visited steemit.com? Come back and see us. "

So what does this mean? Well not much to me other there is someone over there still trying to get some things done. What things? who knows but I find it interesting.

I'm not one of those people that hate steemit. I hate what happened but I don't hate the platfrom. I don't post there anymore but I am 1 month away from my 3rd steemit anniversary so I have a fondness for my time spent there.

I thought steemit had so much potential but a real lack of leadership. I also felt that the community could succeed in spite of the leadership but selling out to Justin Sun killed my passion for it.

Having said that, I still have all my steem. It never occurred to me to sell it for hive. My plan had always been to save up 10,000 steem and then start selling my rewards for btc. My brain got wired that way and I never sold my liquid for anything because the price has been so low.

So this newsletter intrigues me because as a digital marker I understand the effectiveness of email marketing. Believe it or not the open rates are still very high and the click rate is very impressive. I know that email is not a hot tech like it was but in marketing it is still a must.

I want to know what is behind that effort and if there resources being devoted to growing the platform to an entirely new audience.

Further, this would be a great lesson for hive regardless of steemit inc's efforts. If there was a Hive news letter emailed to users with interesting lessons on how to operate your account, tips on earning and tutorials to lower the learning curve for newbies, It would be an effective way to remind people to revisit hive and have some new knowledge at their disposal.

So while I still hope the best for steem price I really think this could be a great example for Hive marketing
