What Do You Do With Your Hive Backed Dollars?

I'm settling into hive a bit more mostly thanks to @peakd and how easy it is to use once you get set up. Having said that I still don't think things are newbie friendly. (That has been an issue on steemit as well and I know it is being worked on)

But having said that I am enjoying the experience now and I like how you can now see just about everything you could ever need to see in the PeakD dashboard. (Previously I was a big fan of Busy.org as my gateway onto steemit)

So now that I'm looking around in my dashboard I noticed that HBD is $1.00 today and I remember from the steem days that SBD was supposed to be pegged to the dollar but sometimes shot up in value and other times went below. I always just held them and every now and again I converted them for steem when I thought the rate was good.

But what about Hive Backed Dollars?

I have noticed we are getting paid out in hive power and hbd. Nothing wrong with but I'm wondering what people are doing with their HBD when it is at $1. Is it supposed to be pegged like steemit was. Does HBD operated exactly the same as SBD did or is there something different about it on Hive.

I guess my question is do you just hold them? convert them to hive based on some formula you use to figure out if it is a good time to convert (If so what is the formula). Or, do you sell them on the open market for cash.

In the old days I was all in on steem so I never thought to let my assets leave the platform. Steem is pretty much dead and I'm getting over it but I still need to be convinced that Hive is for real.

I'm not exactly sure what it will take to convince me. The price, the community, the tech? I just don't know but engagement has a lot to do with for me so I look forward to hearing about what you do with your HBD and why
