Over the last few days I have been looking into leasing and seeing the profitability of the whole thing. I can understand why certain accounts do it as it is a good earner right now. It hasn't always been, but since the 50/50 split of author rewards with curators it is a viable proposition today.

I have considered doing it for my own account, but if you engage with users that comment on your posts and upvote them then that is not an option. It would be advisable to use it on an alt but not on your main if that is how you operated. I realised that I give a fair percentage away to users I support that don't give me a great return on their posts, but you also can't drop them for that reason.

I was looking at @dlease and there are leases available that in my opinion are really good deals. For instance a 30 000 lease would require a pay back of around 1575 Hive after 24 weeks or a 9.4 payout per day. That is not very difficult to achieve considering I have just over 20 000 and make around 10 Hive per day.

If someone is switched on and targets curation through an alt account there is no reason why you couldn't make in the region of 35 Hive per day giving you a profit of around 25 Hive per day. Over a 24 week period that would work out to around 4200 profit. Unless I am missing something this is just too easy. Am I missing something and there is more to this that what I am thinking?

If you read this post and I am wrong please let me know in the comments before I pull the trigger and jump in feet first. Sometimes you have to take advantage of the things right in front of you and this according to my calculations is a no brainer right now.
