I wrote a post last week about my phone account for my company phone and how extraordinarily high it was. It turned out to be some apps at so much per day or week had been authorised without my permission. Things like kids zone,wrestlemania,film week and the list goes on. I think in total there were around 60 apps loaded onto my phone of which I had no prior knowledge.

yesterday morning I received an sms and not a phone call from my service provider saying that my ticket was now closed and all the apps have been removed. There was no mention of a refund or how sorry we are for being part of the crooked system milking everyone's accounts. You would think a company like Vodacom would want to be the best of the best and protect their clients interests. Surely a phone call from someone should have been the course of action making sure the customer is happy.

I phoned through to the call center again costing me more money and was redirected through the various departments to a chap called David. At least it was a name I could pronounce and never forget. David got the full brunt of my complaint and understood perfectly clear i was not a happy bunny. I even made him repeat after me the word "refund". I then asked him over and over again what did I want and expect? I kind of brainwashed the poor bloke, but hey you do what you have to do.

David was kind enough to mention that the refund should include the half of this month as it hadn't been calculated in yet. Whilst I was still on the phone another ticket popped up with a reference to my complaint. When all is said and done when you end the call you have no idea. They have a grading of quality of service afterwards and one of the choices was quite perfect. It said that "you are not sure if the problem has been dealt with" which is quite true.

About an hour later I received another ticket closing stating that a full refund has been actioned. I will hold my breath until the next billing as I am sure they haven't done everything that was promised. Just seems stupid that you have to fight for money they have taken from you yet when you owe them something they just cancel the service. I have found another service provider, but it looks like I won't get a refund but more of a credit so I will have to use that up first. They call it customer service yet have no clue about offering a service as one should not be phoning multiple times chasing the problem. They have chased me away quite successfully when they may have been able to keep me on board.

These days companies are not to big to fall from grace as in South Africa Domino's Pizza went this week. They are being auctioned off entirely and being split up. Living up to their name with a domino effect and over 1000 jobs gone in the process. If you can't make it as a pizza take away then you shouldn't be in business. Another chain resorted to crowd funding to stay afloat so those results will be interesting to see.
