BLURT is a new fork of STEEM, it was already planned but also now taking advantage of the HF23, and Binance's offer of a listing, BLURT is set to launch mainnet on or before July 4th (and we have heard some confirmations of a hard July 4th in their discord.

Now they are hosting a poll to let the community decide if they include the original steemit stake, or fork it out!

Even before this decision, Blurt has enough reasons to differentiate itself from either STEEM or HIVE. They plan to have a 2 year regency government (top witness lock), while DPoS governance problems are solved. And besides rolling back a lot of the EIP, they appear to be set on completely eliminating downvotes and removing SBD.

Its probably for the best that they remove the much misunderstood debt instrument and its virtuous feedback loop, because we wouldn't be caught trading or holding BBDs, even if they were Blurt Backed Dollars.

@thecryptodrive gives a good summary of the pros and cons of this upcoming decision in his invitation to vote.

See the full post for a full list

After reading the full list (12+ cons and 6 pros), the odds seem stacked in favor of removing the STEEMit stake for a second time. Justin Sun is mentioned in both the pros and the cons. But our Analysis reveals an important point missed in this list.

Will Binance honor the listing for a fork that doesn't maintain property rights?

It seems ironic to us that the possibility now exists for 3 versions of the original STEEM, each one of which will be guilty of violating property rights. Its definitely time to fix DPoS governance.

If the DPoS governance solution is fixed, then will that technology be used to start a new, better chain, without all this hassle? I sure hope that the current leaders on all chains are not motivated to prevent progress in a decentralized governance that would prevent the 'need' to remove property in the first place.

Surely the forces of competition will coerce each chain to improve governance at a reasonable pace!

We are still thinking about our decision....and have not yet voted. The DPoll has not yet loaded for us, but you can try, and soon we will come to a decision and cast our vote as well.
