Good evening everybody! Well, the title promises you a little silver and gold, so let's get to it!

As some of you know, I like a western theme, and my stacking reflects that. I absolutely love the American Buffalo and have many of these babies in my stack. We were hiking this afternoon, and I decided to take some along just for a bit of a different background.

I tried to include the trail in this shot, so it loses the details of the silver rounds resting gently in the moss on this big boulder.

The design of this round was inspired by James Earle Fraser's design of the 1913 Buffalo Nickel. The obverse shows a Native American with the word 'Liberty' just to the right. The reverse shows Black Diamond atop a mound of dirt. At the top are the words one troy ounce and at the bottom .999 fine silver. Here is a little closer look at the rounds.

Midway on our hikes is a place called Towhee Ridge where there is a nice deck and a picnic table with wonderful views to the east and the west. The silver looks very nice against the weathered background of the picnic table.

I've heard it said that a silver quarter back in the day could buy a gallon of gas and that same quarter today could buy a gallon of gas (maybe two now since the price has gone down!). Silver is a good thing to stack and keep over the long term. Yes, the price does vary, but I believe that is will rise again, maybe even higher than it did after the 2008 recession.

Now, what you've been waiting for...........the gold!

So, with tongue in cheek, I present the latest version of this precious material...............wait for it..........wait for it...........

Well, granted it's not really gold, but lately it seems like it is!

I hope you've enjoyed this post with silver out in the wild. Take care everybody and please leave your comments below!
