J0E007, the pseudonym by which one of the most recognized cryptocurrency traders or traders on Bitfinex is known, disappeared from this exchange platform, after the recent rise in the price of bitcoin caused losses of more than USD 18 million.

This Thursday, May 7, J0E007 published a letter through his Twitter account, explaining that "although the trip (his presence on the network) was unexpectedly exciting, it has come to an end." That post, as well as the rest of your interactions, are no longer available on the social network, after the account was deleted.

In his text, the trader explained that his participation in the network was always thought of as "a limited time experiment". In this regard, he assured that he could not "afford" to have a presence on Twitter. "There are many reasons why I cannot stay, unfortunately," he added.

Additionally, J0E007 left as a message in the biography of his Twitter profile a message announcing the imminent closure of his account and advising that those interested in maintaining some of their publications should save screenshots before the account "self-destructs".

Sustained profits betting against the bitcoin price

J0E007 was considered in the bitcoin environment as a "bear whale". That is, a great holder of BTC that was dedicated to betting on the drop in the price of bitcoin. In mid-February, there was speculation about its possible impact on the drop in the price of bitcoin, after that movement made him earn almost 10 million dollars in a matter of minutes.

At the time, Bitfinex's own CTO, Paolo Ardoino, outlined with a screenshot how J0E007 benefited from bitcoin's crash with a margin of $ 9,097,371.19 in just 5 minutes.
