Another thing about the quarantine is that I had more time to dig through boxes in the storage and try to sort them out. During this weekend's episode, I came across a "piggy bank" I used to use in university. I put it in quotations because it's actually a cow. So, I guess that makes it a "moo bank"?

The bank is about 5 inches tall and still contained a substantial amount of coins for years. Lucky for me, I got to open it up and clean each coin via Clorox wipes. From there, I've found some somewhat unique dollar coins I left in there. Here are the front and back photos:

From top left to bottom right:

Susan B. Anthony, Sacajawea, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Willard Fillmore, and Franklin Pierce.

Yeah, the last two names are both President of the United States. They may be a bit less known, but their deeds contributed to the eventual American Civil War in the mid-1800s.

These types of coins are collectibles, to an extent, like the state quarters. I recall trying to grab quarters from each state back in the mid-2000s. From my limited knowledge, it looks like my Susan B. Anthony coin is a narrow rim with clear "S" mint. Not that it matters much, they aren't worth much more than their minted value right now.

The Presidential dollars is a series that includes all the US presidents up until Reagan. This year, George H.W. Bush's coin will come into circulation. You can read a bit more about these dollar coins on Wikipedia.

I never went out of my way to acquire these coins back as a college student. In fact, I have most likely spent a number of them as a young and foolish man. The truth is, I got them from using vending machines.

I remember I could put in a $5 bill into the vending machine, ask it to return change, and it would give back dollar coins. How does that logic work? I have no clue, but it is what it was. But yeah, these are some fun things I found while cleaning out my old stuff.
