Saludos, queridos amigos de Hive Blockchain. Continuo con mi aventura en el mundo blockchain, las criptomonedas y en especial, aprendiendo y descubriendo las posibilidades y oportunidades que nos ofrecen las Finanzas Descentralizadas o DeFi. Esta es una de las áreas más florecientes de la tecnología blockchain, ya que permite a cualquier persona, el acceso sin limitaciones a una serie de servicios y ventajas financieras de manera directa y personal, sin la necesidad de la intervención de un tercero, empresa o ente centralizado. En pocas palabras, son los mismos usuarios que participan de un protocolo DeFi, quienes realizan sus operaciones directamente entre ellos, apoyándose en la ejecución de contratos inteligentes que registran las operaciones de intercambios, así como de oferta y demanda de activos y servicios financieros, asentándolos en un libro de contabilidad público y gestionado por una cadena de bloques. Esta particularidad le otorga las características propias de esta tecnología, tales como transparencia, seguridad e inmutabilidad de los datos, todo esto de forma automática. Estamos de acuerdo que esto implica conocer y estar de acuerdo de las condiciones que se establecen para la ejecución de estos contratos inteligentes y del funcionamiento del mismo protocolo en general.

Understanding About the DeFi Opportunity on Hive

Greetings, dear friends of Hive Blockchain. I continue with my adventure in the blockchain world, cryptocurrencies, and especially, learning and discovering the possibilities and opportunities offered by Decentralized Finance or DeFi. This is one of the most flourishing areas of blockchain technology, as it allows anyone to access without limitations a series of services and financial advantages in a direct and personal way, without the need for the intervention of a third party, company, or centralized entity. In short, it is the users themselves who participate in a DeFi protocol, who carry out their operations directly among themselves, relying on the execution of smart contracts that record the exchange operations, as well as the supply and demand of financial assets and services, recording them in a public ledger and managed by a blockchain. This particularity gives it the characteristics typical of this technology, such as transparency, security, and immutability of data, all of this automatically. We agree that this implies knowing and agreeing to the conditions established for the execution of these smart contracts and the operation of the protocol itself in general.

Para hacerlo un poco más sencillo, trataré de explicar un poco de este tema, con algunas dApps que tenemos en nuestra blockchain y que nos permiten involucrarnos de primera mano con este concepto. Podemos comenzar con hacer una breve visita al portal TribalDex en la cual encontramos características que definen un protocolo DeFi. Así, en TribalDEX tenemos la particularidad que podemos realizar operaciones directamente con otros usuarios a través del portal, sin la necesidad de la intervención de un tercero. Otro detalle importante es que los mismos usuarios mantienen en todo momento el control de sus activos expresados en los token de su balance, gracias a la posesión de las claves privadas de las billeteras que interactúan con el protocolo. Y estas son características relevantes para cualquier protocolo DeFi. Las operaciones de intercambio dentro del protocolo, se efectúan a través de la ejecución de los contratos inteligentes que componen la plataforma, todo de forma automatizada y que pueden ser verificadas y auditadas a través del explorador de bloques Hiveblocks.

To make it a little simpler, I will try to explain a little of this topic, with some dApps that we have in our blockchain and that allow us to get involved firsthand with this concept. We can start with making a brief visit to the TribalDex portal in which we find characteristics that define a DeFi protocol. Thus, in TribalDEX we have the particularity that we can perform operations directly with other users through the portal, without the need for the intervention of a third party. Another important detail is that the users themselves maintain control of their assets expressed in their balance tokens at all times, thanks to the possession of the private keys of the wallets that interact with the protocol. And these are relevant features for any DeFi protocol. The exchange operations within the protocol, are carried out through the execution of the smart contracts that make up the platform, all in an automated way and that can be verified and audited through the block explorer Hiveblocks.

Otro de los principales protocolo del tipo DeFi de nuestro amplio abanico de dApps es PolyCub. Aunque esta plataforma no está construida directamente en nuestra cadena de bloques y pertenece más bien a la red Polygon, su particularidad radica en precisamente la conexión o interacción que nos permite para beneficiarnos de ambas blockchain. En este portal, podemos obtener él Token POLYCUB al convertirnos en aportante de liquidez de las diversas piscinas que componen el protocolo. Lo mejor de todo esto, es que podemos incursionar en este protocolo con nuestra posesiones en HIVE y HBD, utilizando los diferentes puentes que se han construido para permitir esta interacción. Como en todo protocole DeFi, en PolyCub los usuarios siempre mantienen el control de sus activos de manera directa e interactúan con el mismo a través de su billetera Metamask o cualquier otra que le permita conectarse, conservando en su poder las claves privadas o semillas que le otorgan este derecho de propiedad personal y directa.

Another of the main DeFi type protocol of our wide range of dApps is PolyCub. Although this platform is not built directly on our blockchain and belongs rather to the Polygon network, its particularity lies precisely in the connection or interaction that allows us to benefit from both blockchains. In this portal, we can obtain the POLYCUB token by becoming a liquidity contributor to the various pools that make up the protocol. The best part of all this is that we can dabble in this protocol with our holdings in HIVE and HBD, using the various bridges that have been built to enable this interaction. As in all DeFi protocols, in PolyCub users always keep control of their assets in a direct way and interact with it through their Metamask wallet or any other that allows them to connect, keep in their possession the private keys or seeds that grant them this right of personal and direct ownership.

El concepto o sistema de Finanzas Descentralizadas o DeFi (Descentralized Finance, por sus sigla en inglés) es de reciente data y fue utilizado por vez primera en la plataforma MakerDao en 2018. Su potencial principal y casos de usos aun están siendo evaluados, probados y dependerá de los mismos usuarios, de que este se termine estableciendo como una opción financiera para todos en general. De momento, ya existen personas, empresas e instituciones, entre quienes me cuento, que ya se involucran con este concepto, construyendo soluciones o aprovechando los beneficios de invertir y aportar financiamiento a través de la oferta y la demanda entre ellos mismos, fuera del alcance de los entes reguladores. Este es otro aspecto que de seguro será necesario y que puede aportar más confiabilidad a esta interesante manera de acceder a servicios financieros de vanguardia. El empleo de la tecnología blockchain, brinda un sólido respaldo para la seguridad y la confiabilidad de estos protocolos, por lo que podemos estar seguros de que en un futuro, todos podremos acceder a diferentes aplicaciones en DeFi de una manera más directa y sencilla.

The concept or system of Decentralized Finance or DeFi is recent and was first used in the MakerDao platform in 2018. Its main potential and use cases are still being evaluated and tested and it will depend on the users themselves if it ends up establishing itself as a financial option for everyone in general. At the moment, there are already people, companies, and institutions, among whom I count myself, that are already involved with this concept, building solutions or taking advantage of the benefits of investing and providing financing through supply and demand among themselves, out of the reach of regulators. This is another aspect that will surely be necessary and can bring more reliability to this interesting way of accessing cutting-edge financial services. The use of blockchain technology provides solid support for the security and reliability of these protocols, so we can be sure that in the future, we will all be able to access different applications in DeFi in a more direct and simple way.

Algunas consideraciones y recomendaciones de vital importancia y que debemos internalizar antes de adentrarnos en el mundo DeFi, pueden ser las siguientes:

• El mundo de las criptomonedas tiene como gran característica una alta volatilidad. Esta condición nos obliga, en primer término, a estudiar, fórmanos y aprender como funciona este amplio mercado de oportunidades. También es muy buena estrategia contar con asesoría experta en estos temas y seguir las recomendaciones de las personas que ya tienen experiencia en este campo.

• Siempre se debe tener presente la máxima recomendación que nos dice: Solo invierte lo que estés dispuesto a perder. Esta premisa cobra mucho valor en estos momentos de mercado en rojo, ya que se han generado cuantiosas perdidas a muchos inversores, que aunque nos las esperaban, siempre están presentes al momento de realizar cualquier inversión. Si no te puedes dar el lujo de prescindir de ese dinero, es mejor no invertir.

• En todo momento debemos buscar un equilibrio en nuestras inversiones, por lo que la diversificación de las mismas es necesaria. Esto va de la mano con la primera recomendación, ya que nos permite aprovechar oportunidades emergentes y descubrir aquellas situaciones en que podríamos estar en riesgo. Una cartera diversificada y bien administrada, nos protegerá de posibles perdidas no deseadas.

• Una ultima y muy importante recomendación, es la correcta administración de las claves de acceso a nuestras billeteras. Siempre se deberá tener cuidado de mantenerlas seguras y lejos del alcance de cualquier mal intencionado, así como de no perderlas por omitir su resguardo correcto. No querrás algún día, encontrarte con una ganancia considerable en tu inversión y no poder acceder a ella por haber perdido tus claves.

• The world of cryptocurrencies has a great characteristic of high volatility. This condition forces us, in the first place, to study, train and learn how this wide market of opportunities works. It is also a very good strategy to have expert advice on these issues and follow the recommendations of people who already have experience in this field.

You should always keep in mind the maximum recommendation that tells us: Only invest what you are willing to lose. This premise is very valuable in these times of red market since many investors have generated substantial losses, which although they did not expect them, are always present at the time of making any investment. If you cannot afford to do without that money, it is better not to invest.

At all times we must seek a balance in our investments, so diversification is necessary. This goes hand in hand with the first recommendation since it allows us to take advantage of emerging opportunities and to discover those situations in which we could be at risk. A diversified and well-managed portfolio will protect us from possible unwanted losses.

A last and very important recommendation is the correct administration of the access codes to our wallets. Care should always be taken to keep them safe and away from the reach of any malicious person, as well as not to lose them by omitting their correct safekeeping. You do not want to one day find yourself with a considerable profit in your investment and not be able to access it because you have lost your passwords.
