My Crypto Heartbreak and Lessons 😢

Hello friends, the 9th day of August started with a heart break and a lesson for me. I'd like to share the heart break today came with :

My heart break :

Two years ago, December to be precise. I got initiated into the crypto world with my early days on Steemit. Started the journey with being more of a blogger. Engaging, interacting and writing on the steem blockchain. Then after some months I started attending crypto meet ups and seminars as well. Got to know about Airdrops, crypto investment, trading, hodling and lot more in the crypto world. The journey I must confess have been a fruitful one. It exposed me to meeting new friends, exposing my self to learning, I made some cool cash and lot more other benefits.
During my trading days I was introduced to Binnance, Hotbit, Mecatox and other crypto exchanges. But most of the times I trade using Binnance and Hotbit due to the less fees, its easy to use and understand and also most of my airdrop tokens were being listed on Hotbit and Mecatox. I was a strict person who loves to HODL and value my Crypto assets for a long time, always hoping for the lambo.
Like I said earlier, the journey was fine until I was robbed and had my phone stolen by some people in school on my visit to the night class. I tried tracking the device but it was not successful. The thieves were indeed the smart ones, they had wipe off everything in my phone. Gotten rid of the sim card and rebranded the phone. I felt heart broken and at the same time I was happy I could always have access to my Crypto assets at any time until today, when I attempted logging into my hotbit account to make some redrawals, First I inserted my email and password and click on the verify icon :

It got verified within seconds : But this was it; the exact stroke that broke the camels back 😪😭🤦‍♂️. I had lost my phone and the heartless thieves did not consider me and my Google authenticator app, I used my Google authenticator as my major 2fa. And in other to have access to it I'd need to have my old device to scan the QR Code in it :

Immediately, I tried searching for possible solutions online to see how I could have access to it but there was no possible solution online as I saw this often :

Since morning I've been heart broken and feeling bad for my lost crypto assets in my hotbit account. The feeling is quite unbearable. But then, THIS TOO SHALL ALWAYS PASS BY.... I geared and hope for better crypto days ahead. I opened a new hotbit account but this time I set my 2fa with my phone sms as even though I have my phone spoilt or stolen I can still have access to it anytime I back up my sim card. My advice to crypto starters is that you can effectively use Google authentication and have your mnemonics backed offline and also try to register a plan b by enabling 2fa via sms too incase of the rainy days. I don't need to point out my lessons to you as its already staring at you in the eyeball "ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN B". "Had I known"always comes last 🤦‍♂️.
