The first thing is that Bitcoin has been mostly used to make payments, and although it can also be used for smart contracts, Ethereum has been mostly adopted for this kind of services, so both have different uses in the community and therefore should be evaluated differently.

For example, when I want to send money I might prefer Bitcoin because it has a safer network and is more used for this type of transaction than Ethereum, but if I want to create smart contracts for multiple reasons, I might use Ethereum for convenience.

The second and very related to the first point, is a stage in history (2017) in which there was a boom in the popularity of Ethereum thanks to the use of this network to create ICO's, which gave birth to several projects and also to several scams, but that together with a significant increase in the price of the crypto and the FOMO created at that time, gave the space for several people to have to use Ethereum to create their own ICO, the obvious result was the creation of several wallets for this use, compared to Bitcoin whose adoption has been more stable over time.

Both cryptos are important in the market and have different functions, Bitcoin might not be as usable in terms of other functions such as smart contracts, but it has an important community that supports it with a dominance of 60% of the market capitalization, but on the other hand the second place in the market has been Ethereum because of its usability, which is also important when we talk about an asset staying over time.

Both have had their place and will continue to have their place in crypto space.

Aunque en la actualidad estamos viendo un aumento en la popularidad de las criptos, no podemos dejar detrás lo que ha sido de los últimos años en este ecosistema, más específicamente desde los inicios de Bitcoin hace más de una década y el nacimiento de otros proyectos sumamente importantes para el cripto espacio como Ethereum.

Hoy en día podemos ver que la cantidad de wallets creadas en ambas cadenas son diferentes, siendo la de Ethereum mayormente usada en comparación con la de Bitcoin, y en lo que debemos tomar en cuenta varias variables para poder explicar esta situación.
