Hi Investors

Last week I told you I invested in a fertilizer company listed as OCI in the Netherlands but with fabrics in Egypt and the USA. Next to that I bought shares in ASR a Dutch Insurer who according to me would not suffer much of Corona. Third item to monitor is that the money I invested came from realized profits of market maker Flowtraders.

Did I do better than that monkey we all heard of ?

First of all the ASR shares did well after the publication of the numbers : +5% and I sold all the next two days before the share would go ex-dividend (Aug 31)

The OCI shares decreased 3% before the numbers and another 4% after the numbers and again 2% the next day. I sold all of them which took out my ASR gains almost completely. (The ASR investment was a higher amount).

But the worst decission - in hindsight - was selling the Flow Trader sharers after the increase they made. After the ex-dividend date they continued to rise for reasons not clear to me. I would have had another 10% if I had kept them a while longer. But no sad feelings - it is important to sell when your target is achieved and more important sell a stock when you loose and you do not want to hold it long time.

I know investing is for people with a long horizon but I invest for fun like a kind of day trader and limiting my exposure to a small period like a week.

So how do I score the week ?

Although financially neutral I rate it negative as the research done was not rewarded.

Next steps:

The ASR share goes ex-dividend on August 31 including a special dividend of 2019 that was suspended earlier due to the european central bank ordering not to pay out dividends in corona time. If the price drops further after the ex dividend opening I may buy some more expecting US investors to buy as well later on the day. The outlook for this company is very strong still and share price still 25% lower than 2019.

Have a nice weekend
