Malaysia 2003 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition Commemorative Coin

The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2003 (LIMA 03) commemorative coin was issued by Bank Negara Malaysia on 29 September 2003. The LIMA 2003 commemorative coin was launched in conjunction with the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace (LIMA) Exhibition held on September 30 - October 5, 2003, in Langkawi.

three types of commemorative coins have been issued; RM100 Gold (proof), RM10 Silver (proof), and RM1 Copper-Nickel (coin card). All three coins are legal tender in Malaysia.

The design for the three types of commemorative coins is the same as the official LIMA logo and the globe symbolizing FIMA as an international event. It is surrounded by the words "INTERNATIONAL MARITIME & AEROSPACE" and the date "30 SEPT-5OCT 2003".

In the background is a picture of a Russian-made Sukhoi-30 fighter jet and the Royal Malaysian Navy's KD Admiral Tun Pusmah. The denomination value of "1 Ringgit" is at the top and "BANK OF MALAYSIA" is at the bottom.

The 2003 LIMA Commemorative coins were minted and distributed by The Royal Mint of Malaysia. These commemorative coins went on sale on September 30, 2003.

It was designed by Master Designer Royal Mint of Malaysia, Ismail Ibrahim.
