Black september - Septiembre negro

Reading a post this morning I found out something curious, although it was not the main topic of the publication, it said in a paragraph that in general the month of September is not good for bitcoin and we all know that, if it is not good for the currency mother, it is likely that, with rare exceptions, all the others suffer similar problems.

Since the statement surprised me, I began to investigate the price of the cryptocurrency in recent years specifically in that particular month, effectively and invariably in September of each of the last 5 years bitcoin has had strong declines than on average they are around 12%.

Not content with having confirmed that the ninth month of the year is not especially benign for the famous cryptocurrency, I wanted to see if there had been financial news that could be directly related to this repetitive event, but I did not find them, be careful, it does not mean that no There are, only that I did not find important justifications that would lead to this drop in the price that has been reproduced from at least 5 years ago.

In any case and seeing the glass half full, in this five-year period the trend was always upward, even and especially in the last year and despite the Covid-19 pandemic that has caused serious damage to the economies of most of the countries of the world.

Therefore, more than a rarity or a design vice, there does not seem to be anything abnormal in this behavior, but if we must remember this particular behavior next year and take it into account, perhaps we will save ourselves some setbacks if we take the corresponding precautions.

Spring begins in these latitudes in September and it is a time of hope and good vibes, perhaps the bitcoin coming from the northern hemisphere does not like the autumn that is the prelude to the cold winter.

Leyendo un post este mañana me entere de algo curioso, aunque no era el tema principal de la publicación, decía en algún párrafo que en general el mes de septiembre no es bueno para el bitcoin y todos sabemos que, si no es bueno para la moneda madre, lo más probable es que, con raras excepciones, todas las demás sufran similares problemas.

Dado que la afirmación me causó sorpresa, me puse a investigar la cotización de la criptomoneda en los últimos años específicamente en ese mes en particular, efectiva e invariablemente en septiembre de cada uno de los últimos 5 años el bitcoin ha tenido fuertes bajas que en promedio rondan el 12%.

No contento con haber confirmado que el noveno mes del año no es especialmente benigno para la famosa criptomoneda, quise ver si se habían producido noticias financieras que pudieran tener relación directa con este evento repetitivo, pero no las encontré, cuidado, no quiere decir que no las haya, solo que yo no encontré justificativos importantes que llevaran a esta baja en la cotización que se reproduce desde al menos 5 años para atrás.

De todas maneras y viendo el vaso medio lleno, en este quinquenio siempre la tendencia fue alcista, inclusive y especialmente en el último año y pese a la pandemia de Covid-19 que ha causado graves daños en las economías de la mayoría de los países del mundo.

Por consiguiente, más que una rareza o un vicio de diseño no parece haber nada anormal en ese comportamiento, pero si debemos recordar este particular comportamiento el próximo año y tenerlo en cuenta, quizás nos ahorremos algunos contratiempos si tomamos los recaudos correspondientes.

Por estas latitudes en septiembre comienza la primavera y es época de esperanza y buena onda, quizás el bitcoin al provenir del hemisferio norte no le guste el otoño que es la antesala del frio invierno.
